Publication number: 20160219046Abstract: In one example of a system and method for multi-modal biometric identity verification, a system receives a request from a device to verify a user's identity. The request includes a payload encrypted using keys derived from a biometric minutia set based on the user's biometric data. The system retrieves biometric data corresponding to an enrolled user, generates a decryption key based on a biometric minutia set derived from the retrieved biometric data, and decrypts the payload. Biometric data extracted from the payload is compared to biometric data corresponding to the enrolled user to produce a comparison result. The result is used to identify a value representing a probability that the biometric data matches. The system calculates a verification score representing a level of confidence that the user is the enrolled user if the value meets or exceeds a threshold and sends the score or a representation thereof to the device.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2013Publication date: July 28, 2016Inventors: CLAUDIO R. BALLARD, SANDY FLIDERMAN, BRIAN HUEMPFNER

Publication number: 20140195974Abstract: A method for using a finger swipe interface to control the functionality of a system comprises the following steps: storing a key swipe pattern; storing a key indicia; sensing a pick swipe pattern using a finger swipe interface; comparing the pick swipe pattern to the key swipe pattern; storing a positive result if the pick pattern is the key pattern; displaying, an array of different indicia at a plurality of discrete display locations. If a positive result, the array of indicia includes the key indicia, whereas if a negative result, the array does not include the key indicia. A pick indicia is sensed and compared to the key indicia. Publication number: 20130231794Abstract: A power management system including granularized control and intelligent power reduction comprises a plurality of devices interconnected on a data/power network. A control node is connected on the data/power network in data communication with the plurality of devices and receiving signals indicative of the power requirements of the individual devices and detecting a total available power for the system. The system further comprises a respective operational priority value corresponding to each of the respective devices. The control node compares the total of the power requirements for all of the devices to the total available power for the system. When the total of the power requirements exceeds the total power available, the control node determines which of the devices has the lowest operational priority value and sends control signals to that device, causing it to either reduce its power use by an incremental amount or turn OFF.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 20, 2013Publication date: September 5, 2013Applicant: VEEDIMS, LLCInventors: JONATHAN S.
