  • Publication number: 20130206655
Abstract: A wearable system for performing purifying therapies on organic fluids with the use of extracorporeal circuits includes a clothing article wearable by a patient, in which at least one disposable extracorporeal circuit is removably housed. The wearable clothing article has a line for drawing, from a patient drawing point, organic fluid to be purified, and a line for returning, to a patient infusion point, purified organic fluid. A filter is included for filtering the organic fluid to be purified, arranged between the drawing line and the return line. A first pump is provided for pumping, along the extracorporeal circuits, the organic fluid to be purified and the purified organic fluid. A means for collecting and storing fluid residues filtered from the organic fluid to be purified, is connected to the filter via a collection line. The extracorporeal circuit includes an anti-thrombogenic covering.

  • Publication number: 20130032525
Abstract: The filtering and pumping apparatus (1; 100; 200) for medical use comprises: feed lines (13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26) for feeding in and out a liquid to be pumped and filtered; a pumping unit (10, 11, 12) for pumping the fluid in said lines (13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26); a filter unit (4) for filtering said liquid; said lines V, said pumping unit (10, 11, 12), said filter unit (4) being associated together into a single compact body (2).

  • Patent number: 6911014
Abstract: A continuous flow catheter is disclosed. The catheter includes a proximal portion having first proximal end, a first distal end, and an intake lumen and a return lumen. Each of the intake and return lumens extends between the first proximal end and the first distal end. The catheter also includes a connector portion fixedly connected to the first distal portion, wherein the return lumen terminates at the connector portion. The catheter also includes a distal portion having a second proximal end, a second distal end, and a distal lumen extending between the second proximal end and the second distal end. The second distal end is fixedly connected to the connector portion such that the distal lumen and the intake lumen are in fluid communication with each other.

  • Patent number: 6749580
Abstract: Continuous flow catheters, diffusers for catheters, catheters having a diffuser, and methods for continuous flow peritoneal dialysis are provided. The continuous flow catheter includes at least two lumens, of which one is short and the other is long. The long lumen is coiled and contains a plurality of openings. Another similar continuous flow catheter also includes a diffuser for the dispensing of fluid in a diffused manner. The catheters are used for peritoneal dialysis. The diffuser, for use with a catheter, has a plurality of openings for the dispensing of matter in a diffused manner. One method for continuous flow peritoneal dialysis includes creating an incision in the body of the user and separating the anatomical layers, making a circular suture in the peritoneal membrane, making an incision in the peritoneal membrane, inserting the catheter, and tightening the parietal peritoneum.
