  • Publication number: 20170195561
Abstract: The present disclosure provides techniques for capturing, processing, and displaying panoramic content such as video content and image data with a panoramic camera system. In one embodiment, a method for processing panoramic video content may include communicating captured video content to a virtual sensor of a panoramic camera; applying a machine learning algorithm to the captured video content; identifying content of interest information suitable for use by at least one smart application; and executing a smart application in connection with the identified content of interest information. The machine learning algorithm may include at least one of a pattern recognition algorithm or an object classification algorithm.

  • Publication number: 20170195568
Abstract: A modular camera system includes two panoramic camera modules and a base module. Each camera module has a field of view larger than 180°, such that both camera modules are able to capture a combined 360° field of view. At least one (and optionally both) of the camera modules is releasably attached to the base module. The camera module that is releasably attached includes a processor operable to synchronize image data generated from the other camera module with image data generated by its own camera module to produce combined image data representing a 360° field of view. The other camera module may also include a processor, such that the two processors may be dynamically switchable between acting as a main processor and acting as a secondary processor. The base module may provide electrical connections for both camera modules and include a rechargeable battery and/or removable non-volatile memory for file storage.

  • Publication number: 20170195562
Abstract: The invention relates to capturing, processing, and displaying panoramic content such as video content and image data with a panoramic camera system. In one embodiment, a method for processing panoramic video content may include capturing video content in a data storage medium of a panoramic camera; receiving eye location data from an eye tracker apparatus operatively associated with the panoramic camera and with at least one eye of a content creator; and, associating the eye location data with at least a portion of the captured video content. The captured video content with the associated eye location data may be communicated to an access device. In one embodiment, a field of view of the access device can be automatically panned or zoomed on a display of the access device in response to the eye location data.

  • Patent number: 8576179
Abstract: Disclosed are devices and methods of a slider form factor device having a transparent member supported by its sliding body, and a display module supported by its main body. The transparent member of the sliding body is on top of the display module of the main body in the open position and in the closed position. The transparent member is configured to transmit light received from the display module therethrough. The transparent member provides a morphing effect as light emitted by the display module providing indicia is transmitted through the transparent member, the indicia exhibited through the transparent member changing from first indicia to different indicia depending upon the mode of the device. In the open position, the lower portion of the display module can exhibit a keypad while the top portion of the display module can provide indicia visible through the transparent member of the sliding body.
