  • Patent number: 8691169
Abstract: It is possible to produce battery grade metallic lithium from naturally occurring or industrial brine by a process comprising the following steps: (i) precipitating magnesium with calcium hydroxide; (ii) removal of boron via extraction of solvents; (iii) precipitation of lithium with sodium carbonate; (iv) transformation of lithium carbonate to bicarbonate of lithium with carbonic acid; (v) decomposition of bicarbonate of lithium into high purity lithium carbonate as a result of heating of the solution. Re-precipitation of lithium carbonate by the formation of bicarbonate of lithium allows for the removal of the majority of contaminants which co-purify with lithium carbonate and yield battery grade highly purified lithium carbonate.

  • Patent number: 7678442
Abstract: A three-dimensionally embossed non-woven fabric, which is comprised of fibers and/or filaments (3) oriented primarily in the moving direction (2) of the machine, and has zones (5, 7) with regularly alternating elevations (4a, 8a) and indentations (4b, 8b), which are separated from one another by non-embossed areas (6) that are continuous in the moving direction (2) of the machine. These non-embossed areas constitute a proportion ranging from 5% to 50% with regard to the entire surface of the non-woven fabric (1) and the elevations (4a, 8a), and indentations (4b, 8b), when viewed from the opposite side, form indentations or elevations respectively, whereby the surfaces (10a, 10b) delimited by the elevations give the non-woven fabric an apparent thickness ranging from 0.5 mm to 5.5 mm.

  • Publication number: 20060122572
Abstract: A transfer layer of liquid fluids and an absorbent article incorporating the transfer layer, like a diaper, a sanitary napkin or a similar product, which has a permeable cover below which there is disposed a nonwoven transfer layer for liquid fluids followed beneath by an absorbent core which retains the fluids. In the transfer layer there is provided a top layer of predominating hydrophobic properties and a bottom layer of predominating hydrophilic properties. The transfer layer has an embossed surface configuration, with channels formed by compressed nonwoven streaks forming transversal peaks and valleys extending in longitudinal direction along the transfer layer.
