  • Patent number: 9625038
Abstract: There is described a gasket for a valve of an internal combustion engine; the valve comprises a guide element defining a through seat, and a stem slidably moving in such a seat; the gasket comprises an elastically deformable seal element, having an annular configuration with respect to an axis and adapted to be fitted externally on said valve to cooperate with the stem and/or with the guide element; and a support member having an annular shape, fitted coaxially on at least part of the seal element; the support member is formed by a single component made entirely of plastic material.

  • Patent number: 9347343
Abstract: Described herein is a gasket for a valve of an internal-combustion engine; the valve comprises at guide element defining a through seat, find a stein slidably mobile in said seat; the gasket comprises an annular sealing element, which is elastically deformable and is designed to be set externally on the valve to co-operate both with the guide element and with the stem, and an annular supporting member, which is set coaxially on at least part of the sealing element in such a way that the latter is radially pressed between the supporting member and the valve; the supporting member comprises a first portion for interaction with the sealing element and a second portion for positioning in use the gasket on the engine; the first and second portions of the supporting member form part of a first component and a second component respectively, that are distinct from one another and are mounted coaxially by snap-action coupling means.

  • Patent number: 8764019
Abstract: A gasket for a valve in an internal combustion engine is provided with a first elastically deformable portion adapted to cooperate with a rod of the valve. A second elastically deformable portion is adapted to cooperate with an outer surface of a guide element of the valve, and a third elastically deformable portion is interposed between the first and the second elastically deformable portions and bearing a cantilevered gas tight seal lip is adapted to cooperate with the rod of the valve. The lip displays a frustoconical configuration with a section decreasing in opposite direction to the pressure forces directed towards the first elastically deformable portion and is connected to the third elastically deformable portion at its greater section part. The lip is further connected on the side exposed to the pressure forces, to the third elastically deformable portion by a surface bearing one or more waves.
