    Abstract: Disclosed is the polyelectrolytic titration of serum lipoproteins, the negative surface charge of the latter being determined quantitatively by adding an excess amount of a polycation in aqueous solution to the particular serum lipoprotein and then back-titrating the positive charge, of the polycation, which has not been neutralized by the negative surface charge, against a chromotropic polyanion, in the presence of a metachromatic dye as the indicator. The method according is used for the diagnosis of lipometabolic disorders.
