  • Patent number: 9849886
Abstract: A method and device for the combined determining of a momentary vehicle roll angle of a motor vehicle and a momentary roadway cross slope of a curved roadway section traveled by the motor vehicle is disclosed. The momentary vehicle roll angle and momentary roadway cross slope are determined from chassis data and transverse dynamics data of the motor vehicle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 31, 2013
Date of Patent: December 26, 2017
    Assignee: Daimler AG
Inventors: Dieter Ammon, Claus-Michael Hainbuch, Magnus Rau
  • Patent number: 9694812
Abstract: A method and device for determining a target curve incline of a motor vehicle during traveling of a curved roadway section is disclosed. A momentary transverse acceleration of the motor vehicle is determined depending on a momentary speed of the motor vehicle and a momentary roadway curvature of the curved roadway section determined by an optical detection system. A momentary target curve incline for the motor vehicle is calculated from the determined momentary transverse acceleration. A modified momentary target curve incline is calculated by weighting of the calculated target curve incline with a speed-dependent target curve incline weighting factor. The momentary roadway curvature is determined by additionally using a vehicle navigation system of the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5072803
Abstract: A power-assisted steering method establishes or sets an auxiliary force by taking into account a plurality of variables such as transverse acceleration and vehicle speed characterizing the instantaneous driving conditions. The driving feel with regard to the state of the road surface and the instantaneous driving situation for the vehicle driver are thereby ensured.
