  • Patent number: 4317414
Abstract: A sea-bottom mine actuated by a remote-control device, includes at least operational part and a plurality of explosive sections. While awaiting use, the operational part and explosive sections are kept in an elongated column-like storage arrangement with the operational part and explosive sections hinged or flexibly connected together. In the storage arrangement, the operational part and explosive sections can be releaseably locked together. When the mine is thrown into the sea, the operational part and explosive sections are displaced from the column-like storage arrangement and open out into a flat arrangement with the operational part and explosive sections still interconnected together.

  • Patent number: 4281427
Abstract: The present warning and/or signalling device is intended to provide radar signal reflections for locating a ship or an aircraft wreck or reflected warning signals when sensing the approach of a vessel, such as a submarine. For this purpose a radar reflector forms a unit with a first buoyancy or lift structure. The unit in turn is stored in a second buoyancy or lift structure which may be placed below or above sea level. The second buoyancy or lift structure is further equipped with identification and/or other types of sensors.

  • Patent number: 4267147
Abstract: In a method for producing large structural components such as boats or swimming pools of fiber reinforced synthetic materials layers of pre-impregnated fiber material are continuously applied to a mold. An air impermeable foil or membrane is sealed over the layers of pre-impregnated fiber material. The air is evacuated between the foil or membrane and the fiber material to press the latter by atmospheric pressure against the mold to cause the material to conform to the shear surfaces of the mold. The layers of pre-impregnated fiber materials are then heat cured by heated mats, for example, similar to electric blankets. The sheer surfaces of the molding apparatus are made of sheet material such as sheet metal or sheets of synthetic material. The pressure application and heat curing takes place sequentially in area after area whereby the final size of the finished structure is not limited by the size of an autoclave nor is it limited by the size of available heating blankets.

  • Patent number: 4123974
Abstract: A mine to be laid on the ocean floor consists of two separate containers joined together into a unit. One container holds a firing system and the other an explosive. The explosive is salt water resistant and of a plastic consistency. The container for the explosive is destructible so that it can be removed from about the explosive either during or after placement on the ocean floor. A flexible reinforcement member encloses the explosive so that, after the container is removed and the explosive can flow on the ocean floor, the reinforcement member holds the explosive together.
