  • Publication number: 20070269767
Abstract: The adjustment screw (1) to lock the position and orientation of teeth along the jawbone includes a threaded nut (2) and a threaded spindle (3) transfixing it. The adjustment screw includes a recess (5) for a securing wire (6). To hold the securing wire in the recess a fixed locking mechanism (13) is provided next to the recess (5), into which is inserted a flat, U-shaped elastic clamp (16) with two free legs (17, 18). The locking mechanism (13, 13?) and the spring clamp (16) include corresponding engaging mechanisms (23, 24; 21, 22) to hold the inserted spring clamp (16) in position. In this position, the ends of the legs (17, 18) of the spring clamp (16) cover the recess (5) in order to hold the securing wire (6) in the recess (5).

  • Publication number: 20070269763
Abstract: An orthodontic bracket is disclosed, comprising: a base comprising a rear side for attachment to a tooth and a front side opposite to said rear side, a bracket main body extending from the front side of said base and having a first wing and a second wing, a groove-shaped archwire slot formed along a mesiodistal direction in the bracket main body, for holding an archwire therein between said first and second wings, a clip having a substantially belt shape and being curved substantially in a U-shape for covering at least one part of an opposite side to the base in the archwire slot, the clip having an end portion provided at an upper part thereof and a rotating supporter provided at a lower part thereof, said clip having a notch in a middle of its end portion, wherein the upper part of said clip at least partially covering the first wing has a length that does not extend beyond said archwire slot in a closing position of said clip, and said notch has a length that extends beyond said archwire slot in the closin

  • Patent number: 7044733
Abstract: A mounting aid for positioning an orthodontic bracket on a tooth is provided. The aid comprises a sheet strip having an abutment portion for the positive engagement at the bracket, a holding portion for anchoring at the sheet strip an elastomeric tensioning device attached to the bracket, and a lug extending away from the holding portion. The lug is embedded in casting compound made to form a small cap of the tooth to be aligned using Hiro technology. A mounting gauge formed of the mounting aid and the small cap can non-destructively be removed from the bracket after attachment of the bracket on the tooth by means of the mounting aid. If the bracket shall detach from the tooth in the course of the orthodontic treatment, the mounting gauge can be used for positioning the bracket when newly attaching same on the tooth.

  • Publication number: 20040072118
Abstract: A lingual bracket for orthodontic treatments in the anterior and canine tooth area comprises a slot directed in parallel to the base plate of the bracket, said slot being aligned in a manner that the slot opening points towards the chewing plane. The slot preferably has a depth that is lower than its width. As an element for securing an arch wire in the slot, said slot is preferably covered by a closing spring, which I stably held on the bracket frame in the opening and closing position. An arch wire inserted into the slot is pressed by the closing spring against the slot bottom and generates the forces on the bracket that are required for the tooth position correction. The use of safety lugs for the closing spring can be renounced, which reduces the height of the bracket.

  • Patent number: 5993205
Abstract: An orthodontic bracket comprising a base plate having an edge configuration in which the mesial and distal edges are formed to extend in parallel to mesial and distal secants of the tooth crown. Those secants extend close to the mesial and distal edges of the tooth's crown when seen in front view between the mesial and distal junctions of the enamel, respectively, and the cement at the gingival edge of the tooth and the junction of the incisal edge or cusp and the mesial and distal edge, respectively, of the tooth's crown. Thereby, the positioning of the bracket in conformity with the anatomy of the tooth's crown is facilitated.

  • Patent number: 5562444
Abstract: A bracket having a movable closing spring fixedly but releasably attached thereto, wherein the closing spring is movable between two positions. The closing spring is retained in the opened and closed position due to the inherent spring force and can be put on and off the base member of the bracket.

  • Patent number: 5511975
Abstract: Connecting module for an orthodontic treatment device, consisting of a flat housing with a bow resiliently latched thereto for the attachment to a head harness and a flat fastening band for the attachment to a face bow, the one end of which comprising a flat slide bar section, projecting through an opening in the housing into same, and being held there by means of a helical pressure spring which is located between the free end of the bar slide section and an abutment in the housing, the outer diameter of the helical pressure spring being larger than the thickness of the slide bar section, which may be partially pulled out of the housing against the bias of the helical pressure spring. The slide bar section has an opening extending in the longitudinal direction thereof, with the helical pressure spring being disposed between the axial ends thereof.
