  • Publication number: 20060047392
Abstract: The invention relates to the idea of not initially multiplying the output signal (a) of an acceleration sensor (19) with regard to a weighted sum (?g) with a correction factor (kw) but to alter a test signal (t) by using a weighting means (16) in such a manner that an already weighted output signal (ag) can be generated so that during a test operation, the safing algorithm of an evaluating device can be directly fallen back upon, whereby this can be advantageously tested with regard to its ability to operate. The invention is particularly suited for occupant protection systems of a modern motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6945961
Abstract: An injection device having an incremental clicking mechanism providing the user with an indication of the number of doses being set. For handling different types of medicaments having different dose volumes in the same type of injection device it is beneficial to provide an additional clicking mechanism which is easy changeable. • Patent number: 6892121
Abstract: In a data communication system, data is transmitted from a control device to a communication interface and from there via a communication bus to additional communication interfaces of trigger devices. The communication interface on the control device side has inputs, to which signals from said control device and a disarming switch can be assigned. The disarming switch can be circumvented by a bypass switch which is controlled by the control device. The state of the signal at the inputs of the communication interface on the control device side is transmitted to coresponding outputs of the communication interfaces of the triggger devices. A trigger device has a safety unit which is used to test at least one trigger unit, when the state of the signal of the outputs authorizes such a test and the trigger voltage source is not yet charged wth the full trigger voltage. In said state, the safety unit also blocks triggering as soon as the trigger voltage has been reached.

  • Publication number: 20040108339
Abstract: A frontloaded injection device comprising a cartridge holder into which a replaceable cartridge containing a fluid is inserted. The cartridge holder comprises a closing element such as a pair of claws which are displaceable in a radial direction. The closing element is provided at the front of the injection device and locks the cartridge by gripping at the neck part of the cartridge after the cartridge has been loaded into the cartridge holder from the front of the injection device. The closing element is preferably biased in an outwardly radial direction when the locking element is moved axially out of the cartridge holder.

  • Publication number: 20040068236
Abstract: An end-of-content arrangement for preventing a dose setting member of an injection device to be set to a dose larger that the medicament remaining in the injection device. The arrangement is particular suitable for injection devices operating with non-equistant dose volumes. The arrangement comprises an indentation provided on the housing or on the dose setting and injection member which indentation arrest a stop member when less than one dose unit is left in the cartridge. The stop member is coupled to the dose setting member such that the interaction between the indentation and the stop member prevents a dose larger that the remaining medication in being set.

For handling different types of medicaments having different dose volumes in the same type of injection device it is beneficial to provide an additional clicking means which is easy changeable. • Publication number: 20040059299
Abstract: An injection device for injection of set doses of medicine from a cartridge, in which syringe a dose is set by screwing a nut up along a threaded piston rod, whereby a dose setting drum, which carries on its cylindrical surface along a helix a scale of which a number corresponding to the set dose is shown in a window in the housing of the syringe, and an injection button, which is elevated over the end of the syringe, are moved axially a distance which is larger than the axial movement of the nut. A gear wheel gear transmission is established between the nut and the injection button.

  • Patent number: 6663602
Abstract: An injection device for injection of set does of medicine from a cartridge has a nut that is screwed up along a threaded piston rod during a dose setting operation. The nut is screwed along the piston rod by rotating a dose setting drum. An injection button is coupled to the piston rod with a gear wheel transmission. Axial movement of the injection button causes a corresponding axial movement of the piston rod until the nut engages an abutment in the housing.

  • Publication number: 20030225461
Abstract: In a data communication system, data is transmitted from a control device (2) to a communication interface (6) and from there via a communication bus (8) to additional communication interfaces (12) of trigger devices (9, 10). The communication interface (6) on the control device side has inputs, to which signals from said control device (2) and a disarming switch (26) can be assigned. The disarming switch can be circumvented by a bypass switch (34) which is controlled by the control device. The state of the signal at the inputs of the communication interface on the control device side (6) is transmitted to corresponding outputs of the communication interfaces (12) of the trigger devices. A trigger device has a safety unit which is used to test at least one trigger unit, when the state of the signal of the outputs authorises such a test and the trigger voltage source is not yet charged with the full trigger voltage.

  • Patent number: 6582404
Abstract: A limiting mechanism which prevents the setting of a dose, which exceeds the amount of liquid left in a cartridge of an injection device, is disclosed. The injection device is the type where a dose is set by rotating a dose setting member relative to a driver and away from a fixed stop in the injection device. The dose setting member interfaces the driver such that the dose setting member can be rotated in one direction without rotating the driver. The dose is injected by rotating back the dose setting member which during the backward rotation carries the driver with it. Rotating the driver causes the piston rod to move forward inside the cartridge and expel some of the liquid contained in the cartridge. The driver is provided with a track having a length which is related to the total amount of liquid in the cartridge and which track is engaged by a track follower coupled to the dose setting member to follow rotation of this dose setting member.

  • Patent number: 6467803
Abstract: A device for triggering an airbag device that is accommodated in a steering wheel is described. The device has a firing cap for an airbag device that is accommodated in a steering wheel and is fired by a light pulse that is supplied via an optical waveguide. A coupling device, which decouples the optical waveguide from the rotation of the steering wheel but ensures that the light pulse is transmitted into the firing cap from the optical waveguide and also ensures that the airbag is inflated by a gas generator, is provided between the optical waveguide and the airbag.

  • Publication number: 20020143288
Abstract: A device for injecting preparations is controlled by a sealed circuit block (10) containing integrated sensors (17, 21, 22, 23 24) which monitors selected parameters. Two pairs of integrated Hall elements (21, 23 and 22, 24) monitors movements relative to a sine formed magnetic field presented along the perimeter of a multipoled magnetized ring (7). The Hall elements in each pair are displaced 180° magnetically relative to each other and the two pairs of Hall elements are displaced 90° magnetically from each other. Each pair is coupled to a differential amplifier (25, 26) to provide a cosine and a sine signal, respectively. The sine signal is divided by the cosine signal to create a tangent signal as an entrance to a table showing the angle of the movement.
