  • Publication number: 20150019451
Abstract: A computer implemented method including populating a data structure, stored on a computer readable storage device, with data for use in determining eligibility for benefits from a benefits program, performing a verification check on the data using evidence related to the data, making a decision regarding eligibility for benefits based on the verified data and rules for the benefits program, and storing the data utilized in the decision, including the evidence used in the verification check.

  • Publication number: 20130166310
Abstract: In one general aspect, a computer system can include an input data parser configured to receive a plurality of input values from an application for a social benefit, and a first phase module configured to determine a first result based on a first phase of benefit decision processing using a first input value from the plurality of input values, and configured to trigger processing associated with a second phase of benefit decision processing based on the first input value from the plurality of input values satisfying a phase triggering condition. The computer system can include a second phase module configured to receive the first result from the first phase module, and configured to determine a second result based on the second phase of benefit decision processing using the first result and a second input value from the plurality of input values.

  • Publication number: 20120011038
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments that provide a system, computer readable medium and a computer-implemented method for calculating gross payment items (GPIs) to provide monetary benefits to a recipient. The disclosed embodiment may use a computer processor of a back end of the computer system to generate an entitlement document for a benefit plan. The entitlement document may include a plurality of entitlement items, each including an entitlement amount for an entitlement period. The entitlement frequencies may be mapped to payment frequencies that each GPI has a corresponding entitlement item. Moreover, a due date for each GPI may be calculated and compared to a reference date to determine whether each GPI is due. Further, for each GPI, an existing overlapping GPI is checked and gross payment amounts are set by taking the existing overlapping GPI into account.

  • Publication number: 20120011061
Abstract: A method and system of generating net calculation documents for issuing benefits to a recipient. The method and system may include receiving gross payment documents (GPDs) each including a plurality of gross payment items (GPIs) each including a benefit amount the recipient is entitled to and deduction plan documents (DPDs) each including a plurality of deduction plan items (DPIs) each including a deduction amount from a corresponding GPI.

  • Publication number: 20120011039
Abstract: Embodiments of a system, machine readable storage medium and a computer-implemented method for implementing a services management system for providing services to a recipient are disclosed. The system may include a computer application controller operating on a back end server accessible by a user application operating on a front end server. The back end server may generate a computer object in response to remote function calls performed by the user application operating on the front end server. Data in the remote function calls may contain data related to services approved for a particular recipient. The generated computer objects may be operated upon by processes executing on the back end server that calculate a gross entitlement amount of benefits for the recipient. The calculated amounts may be passed to a gross payment calculation object and a net calculation objects.

  • Publication number: 20100088133
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments a software architecture for benefits management. The software architecture provides a fixed software layer (e.g., program code) which defines a workflow to support benefits management at a generic level. The workflow defines a fixed, predetermined process through which an enterprise management system receives new requests for benefits, determines whether the request meets eligibility criteria and awards or rejects the benefits request. The software architecture includes a customization layer which includes a number of customization objects, each customization object adapting performance of the generic software layer to be appropriate for a specific benefits program. This software architecture minimizes cost to benefits providers because the generic software layer is common to all public benefits programs being managed by a software user.
