  • Publication number: 20140028035
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle door lock equipped with a locking mechanism, an actuation lever unit acting on the locking mechanism, and a catch lever. The catch lever blocks the locking mechanism at least when acceleration forces of a given magnitude occur, e.g. in case of an accident (crash), rendering the locking mechanism ineffective. According to the invention, the catch lever acts upon a rotary latch of the locking mechanism in the direction of the blocking position of the rotary latch during normal operation and in the event of a crash while allowing the rotary latch and thus the locking mechanism to be in the releasing position only during normal opening operation.

  • Publication number: 20140001774
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle door lock equipped with a locking mechanism (1, 2, 15), an actuation lever unit (3, 4) acting on the locking mechanism (1, 2, 15), and a catch lever (10). The catch lever (10) renders the actuation lever unit (3, 4) ineffective, at least when acceleration forces of a given magnitude occur, e.g. in case of an accident (crash). According to the invention, the catch lever (10) blocks the actuation lever unit (3, 4) during non-deflected normal operation and in the event of a crash while releasing the actuation lever unit (3, 4) only for deflected normal operation.

  • Publication number: 20120068479
Abstract: The invention relates to a lock for a motor vehicle with a locking mechanism including a catch and a pawl. The object of the invention is to simplify the locking of a lock of the type mentioned above. To achieve the object of the invention, a catch of the claimed lock comprises a stop projecting upwards, e.g., in the form of a pin extending from the catch. Furthermore, a bracket is provided, which can be moved against the stop by means of a motor such that the catch is moved in this way from the first position and into the primary position. It is thus possible to move from the first position to the primary position in a motorized manner, which makes it easier to close the vehicle door.

  • Patent number: 6142035
Abstract: An interior securing device for a lock of a movable vehicle body part of a motor vehicle includes a Bowden cable provided as a transmitting device which is rigidly connected with a securing knob and is linked to an adjusting element. The Bowden cable is surrounded along its length by a flexible guiding sleeve. Near the securing knob, the guiding sleeve is held fixed to the vehicle body part. Near the adjusting element, the guiding sleeve is held fixed to the lock. The securing device is particularly suitable for use with rear side doors of passenger cars.

  • Patent number: 6062615
Abstract: A motor-vehicle door latch has an element displaceable between a locked position and an unlocked position and a bowden cable has one end connected to the element and an opposite end. A latch-actuating assembly has a housing, a main lever pivoted on the housing about a main axis between an actuated position and an unactuated position and formed offset from the main axis with an entrainment formation, and a secondary lever pivoted about a secondary axis and having an attachment point offset from both axes and connected to the bowden cable. Thus the secondary lever pivots about the secondary axis relative to the main lever synchronously with the element between locked and unlocked positions.

  • Patent number: 5868017
Abstract: A locking device for vehicles, particularly for vehicle doors has a mechanical revolving connection between a cylinder core of a lock cylinder and a safety lever of an assigned lock which comprises a driving coupling in the form of a lock nut. In order to achieve a simplification of the construction and mounting of the locking device while ensuring the operability of the locking device when it is operated mechanically as well as when the central locking system is operated, the lock nut is constructed in one piece. An end side of the lock nut facing an operating lever arm of the safety lever has two stops spaced angularly from one another and projecting from the end side. The operating lever arm engages between the stops, so that when the lock nut is rotated, a locking or unlocking position of the safety lever is achieved after an idling path.

  • Patent number: 5184022
Abstract: A method and device for the electrical control of a central locking system and of a mechanical securing device (that provides additional lock protection) for motor vehicles by a lock cylinder that interacts with at least two control switches. This method and device ensures a better utilization of the electrical control switches, in that, an unlocking control switch assigned to the unlocking of the central locking system and the deactivation of the mechanical securing device is switched in addition to a locking control switch assigned to the locking of the central locking system. If the lock cylinder is pivoted in the locking direction beyond its regular locking position, the resultant joint switching state of the two switching control devices is evaluated to activate the mechanical securing device.

  • Patent number: 5113655
Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed for the simple removal of liquid condensate, in particular of water of condensation, from compressed-air systems alternately subjected in operation to positive pressure and atmospheric pressure. The compressed-air system is first of all connected for a limited period, at intervals or after each subjection to positive pressure, to a vacuum generator in order to promote re-evaporation of the condensate and is evacuated by the latter before atmospheric pressure is passed in or let in again. In certain embodiments, a highly restricted reverse flow through the compressed-air system is permitted. The method is particularly suitable for use in small-volume compressed-air systems which do not have to be permanently subjected to positive pressure, e.g., in pneumatic door-closing aids for motor cars.
