  • Patent number: 8740857
Abstract: A medical delivery system comprising a container and a coupling mechanism movable between a coupling position wherein distal movement of a drive mechanism is transferred to an actuator, and a non-coupling position wherein distal movement is not transferred to the actuator. Moreover the present invention relates to a dosing assembly for use in the medical delivery system and a container for use in the medical delivery system. Finally, the present invention relates to medical delivery system comprising a dosing assembly having means for preventing a drive stem of the dosing assembly from being moved in a distal direction.

  • Patent number: 8708957
Abstract: The present invention relates to a medical injection device (1) for use in combination with a medicament filled cartridge (2), the injection device being provided with a spring-assisted injecting mechanism where energy released from the spring moves a plunger (3) of a held cartridge (2). Sensor circuitry is adapted to detect speed related data during injection so at to detect an abnormal speed condition, such as a needle blocking condition, a priming condition or an air purge condition. The invention also relates to a medical injection device comprising sensor circuitry and user communicating means to provide a recommended needle retraction waiting period which is dependent on the speed of injection.

  • Publication number: 20130123685
Abstract: Medical injection advice adapted for operating in a dose setting mode and in a dose administration mode, comprising a dosing actuator (124) reversibly actuatable from a first state for operating the device in the dose setting mode to a second state for operating the device in the dose administration mode, a switch (130, 132) adapted to sense positional information associated with the dosing actuator, and a controller coupled to the switch arrangement, wherein electronic mode representation is configured to enter dose setting mode after a time delay following detecting the dosing actuator has moved away from said second state or detecting the dosing actuator has moved into said first state.

  • Publication number: 20100076395
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cartridge or a cartridge holder adapted to be used in connection with handheld medication delivery devices. In particular, the present invention relates to intermediately positioned cartridges or cartridge holders providing at least one electrical connection between electronics of a medication delivery device and an injection needle attached to the medication delivery device. The electrical connection(s) between the electronics and the injection needle may be of galvanic or capacitive nature, the latter being provided via medicament contained in the cartridge.
