  • Patent number: 8260017
Abstract: The influences of the vibrations and the like of a rotational radiography system are corrected with respect to a projection image for each projection direction which contains an artificial artifact, and volume data containing only a ring artifact is generated by image reconstruction using the projection images. A ring center is determined by using this volume data, and polar coordinate conversion of an actual radiographed image is executed by using the ring center as an origin, thereby extracting a signal (ring artifact) parallel to an angular axis.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 19, 2009
Date of Patent: September 4, 2012
Assignees: Kabushiki Kaisha Toshiba, Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation
Inventors: Satoru Ohishi, Clay Christopher Smith

  • Patent number: 6944261
Abstract: An X-ray computed tomography apparatus including an X-ray source, a data acquisition unit, an X-ray detection unit, a reconstruction unit, a creation unit, and a display unit. An X-ray radiated toward an object by the X-ray source is detected to generate a corresponding signal by the X-ray detection unit. According to the signal, data is acquired by the data acquisition unit. A reconstruction unit reconstructs a tomographic image, while a creation unit creates a plane image based on the acquired data A display unit displays the tomographic image and the plane image.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: September 13, 2005
    Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Toshiba
Inventors: Akira Adachi, Thomas Charles Judd, Clay Christopher Smith
