  • Publication number: 20040031639
Abstract: A multi-function utility vehicle has a structure and mechanism which allows the vehicle to carry people on a rear-facing seat, and which can quickly and easily be converted to carry cargo on a rear cargo area floor and at the same time carry vertically oriented cargo, such as garbage cans or golf bags, or can be quickly converted for carrying long horizontally oriented cargo. The conversions can be accomplished without removing or adding equipment, and without using tools. A rear mounted cargo area includes a horizontal seat and an associated seatback. The seatback is pivotal to be folded down onto the seat, and the seat and seatback are pivotal about 90 degrees to form a cargo restraining structure, and about 180 degrees to form an extended floor.

  • Patent number: 6481194
Abstract: A cut height adjustment mechanism is provided for use with a vegetation cutting device, such as a tractor, and including a front-mounted cutting deck. To achieve height adjustment of a front portion of the intended deck, there is provided a height positioning arm fitted and secured between a bracket and a mounting structure adapted to attach to the deck of the cutting device. Adjustment of the arm and hence, the front of the deck, is accomplished by securing the arm to a selection of perforations occurring in both the bracket and the mounting structure. Rear adjustment of the deck is accomplished by connection of a drive member to a vertical upstanding portion also having perforations and attached to the deck. To allow a user to visually inspect which range of cut height has been selected, perforations are provided both in the bracket and the mounting structure, each corresponding similarly to each other to designate a particular range of cut height.

  • Patent number: 6089343
Abstract: A vehicle frame having first and second sub-assemblies permits the rear axle housing to be mounted above the frame and lowers the center of gravity of the vehicle to improve stability on slopes. Connections at two telescoping joints and a cross bar structure provide for quick and easy assembly or separation of the sub-assemblies so that maintenance and/or exchange of the axle unit can be carried out. A single pivotal connection between the axle unit and rear sub-assembly facilitates rocking movement of the axle unit on uneven ground and simplifies installation or removal of the axle unit.
