  • Patent number: 10659179
Abstract: A system may comprise a sensor device. The sensor device may be configured to determine a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of a signal received from another device. The sensor device may be configured to determine, based on the RSSI and a sensitivity threshold, a transmission power level. The sensor device may be configured to send a second signal using the determined transmission power level.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 26, 2018
Date of Patent: May 19, 2020
    Assignee: iControl Networks, Inc.
Inventors: Kenneth W. Egan, Clay Dearman
  • Publication number: 20200089378
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for managing a security system are described. A method may comprise receiving a request to join a security system by a user device. A whitelist may indicate devices, device types, device makes, device models, and/or device firmware versions authorized to join the security system. The method may further comprise enabling, based on a determination that the whitelist comprises an indication that the user device is authorized to join the security system, the user device to exchange data with the security system.

  • Patent number: 9867143
Abstract: Systems and methods comprise determining a received signal strength (RSSI) of a signal. A sensitivity level of a receiver is determined, where the signal is to be received at the receiver. When a determination is made that the RSSI is greater than the sensitivity level, a transmitter power level is calculated as a difference between the RSSI and the sensitivity level. A transmitter of the signal is controlled in accordance with the transmitter power level.
