    Abstract: A first domain name system (DNS) server of a first protocol type is requested to resolve a network name into a network address of the first protocol type. Where the network name is not resolved into a network address of the first protocol type by the first DNS server, a second DNS server of a second protocol type is requested to resolve the network name into a network address of the second protocol type. Where the first DNS server or the second DNS server resolves the network name into a network address, the network address into which the network name has been resolved is returned for access of a network resource at the network address and identified by the network name.
