Publication number: 20240127853Abstract: A primary subsystem captures original information and supplemental information to form a revision. A primary subsystem enables revisions to be made at the location of the incident prior to leaving the location. Systems for collecting and managing information about incidents include primary and secondary subsystems. A category is a descriptor or label that identifies a common aspect among members assigned to the category. Categories may determine how information is stored, communicated, and/or accessed on primary and/or secondary subsystems.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: Patrick W. Smith, Nache D. Shekarri, Jasjit S. Dhillon, Milan Cerovic, Roger Clay Winn, JR.

Patent number: 11836676Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein provide a server that receives a drawing. The server matches assembly types to elements in the drawing and inserts a symbol overlay into the drawing. The symbol overlay includes metadata identifying the assembly types in the drawing. The assembly types are matched to assemblies, including kits, based on user-identified criteria, such as vendor and building codes. The system can then determine logistics for delivering the kits, automatically staggering shipment where dictated by build order of the kits.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2018Date of Patent: December 5, 2023Assignee: EVOLVE MEP, LLCInventors: Richard Burroughs, Clay Smith, Rick Buckman, Fausto Mendez

Patent number: 10314199Abstract: A two chamber immersion cooling tank for cooling at least one heat producing electronic component is described. In one sub-chamber, the at least one electronic component is appropriately secured in the tank which is filled with dielectric fluid that maintains liquid form throughout the cooling procedure. In the circulation path, prior to the component[s], is at least one cross-flow wave inducer. In the second sub-chamber is a secondary heat exchanger which is set up so that all warmed dielectric liquid leaving the electronic component[s] must flow through the secondary heat exchanger in the second sub-chamber. Flow may be vertical or horizontal with respect to the effects of gravity. If a hermetically sealed top is present, orientation can be variable and the system may be used in mobile field or vehicle applications.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2017Date of Patent: June 4, 2019Inventor: F Clay Smith, III

Patent number: 9045892Abstract: A header bracket for connecting a deck ledger board to the side of a house and thus connecting the deck to the house, especially a brick veneer house. The bracket is first connected to a house rim board or the concrete foundation. The bracket is configured to extend through the outside covering of the house, whether the covering be siding, stucco, brick veneer or some other covering. The deck ledger board is attached to the end of the bracket opposite of the end which is connected to the house. The deck is now built as normal by first connecting deck joists which are supported at one end by the ledger board and at the opposite end by posts. The length of the bracket is adjustable to provide for different thicknesses of siding or brick. The header bracket is capable of being assembled in either a U-shaped or a Z-shaped configuration.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2013Date of Patent: June 2, 2015Inventors: M. Clay Smith, Paul J. Spalding

Patent number: 8967383Abstract: The present disclosure teaches improved processes to produce high-brightness kaolins at high yields from various natural sources of crude kaolin. In some embodiments, a process for treating mined kaolin comprises: blunging kaolin material with water at high shear to form a slurry; introducing the slurry to one or more beneficiation units for flocculation of titania (e.g., anatase) and titania-associated impurities (e.g., iron); introducing a sodium silicate composition, or precursors thereof, to the beneficiation units, wherein the sodium silicate composition is characterized by a Na2O/SiO2 ratio selected from about 0.25 to about 2.5; and recovering a suspension comprising at least 70% of the kaolin clay. The selected sodium silicate composition enhances flocculation of the titania while maintaining dispersion of the kaolin clay in the slurry. One or more chemical leaching reactions generate a treated kaolin that is characterized by a brightness of about 90 or higher.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2013Date of Patent: March 3, 2015Assignee: KaMin, LLCInventors: Deqiang Ma, Charles Allen Newsome, Aubrey Clay Smith, John Taylor, Richard Douglas Carter

The clamp device 100 is made up of a generally elongated body portion 110, which includes: first 140 and second 160 opposite open ends, a hollow interior 180 disposed between the opposite ends 140 and 160, and an elongated gap 200 that extends between the first 140 and second 160 opposite open ends, and a first raised portion 120a and/or a second raised portion 120b. At least one raised portion 120a or 120b is located at opposite ends 140 and 160, respectively. The clamp device 100 is removable from the stretcher frame 104 by pulling on the first 120a or second 120b raised portions. A pivot member such as pivot pin 220 can be attached to one opposite end of the body portion 110.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2006Publication date: January 4, 2007Inventor: Clay Smith

Patent number: 6783062Abstract: The invention relates to a system for inhibiting fraud in relation to the use of negotiable instruments and, particularly, in relation to cheques and credit cards. The system requires the owners of cheques and credit cards to be registered with the system, as well as the presentees to whom cheques and credit cards are presented. Via an authorisation and verification procedure to be followed respectively by owners and presentees, particularly by communicating with a central communication and processing unit, fraud in relation to the presentation of cheques and credit cards can be largely eliminated. Communication with the central communication and processing unit will be via telephone lines, although adaptation to accommodate internet communication also is envisaged.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2002Date of Patent: August 31, 2004Inventor: Craig Mark Clay-Smith
