  • Patent number: 5035181
Abstract: A device mounting a fuze in the casing of an ordanance item and providing r pop-out of the fuze to reduce cook-off hazard when the casing is heated. The device has an outer sleeve fixed to the casing, an inner sleeve slideably mounted in the outer sleeve and receiving the fuze, and a resilient element urging the inner sleeve and the fuze from the casing. The sleeves are retained together at normal temperature by a layer therebetween of material which melts at a higher temperature to release the inner sleeve and fuze.

  • Patent number: 4333382
Abstract: An apparatus for launching missiles from aircraft or other launching platms without use of missile fuel is provided through hydraulic means. A hydraulic actuating system provides a high pressure piston stroke over a short distance which permits missiles to be accelerated up to launch speeds prior to initiation of the missile motor. In addition to the use of the hydraulic actuator system, the missile is mounted without external mountings on the missile which affect the aerodynamic performance.

Inventors: Lloyd J. Holt, Clayton E. Panlaqui
  • Patent number: 4187761
Abstract: A variable force control system for weapon ejection mechanisms wherein vable ejection forces are applied after measurement of inflight aerodynamic forces on the weapon and thereupon selecting power from one or more fluid power sources of equal or unequal volume and equal or unequal pressure to effect movement of a fixed stroke power piston.

  • Patent number: 4122754
Abstract: Automatic sway brace mechanism for restraining stores mounted on an aircraft. Cam actuated paired sets of sway braces terminating in store engaging pads are arranged to provide a positive self-centering force equalization arrangement wherein said sway brace mechanism is automatically moved from a retracted to a store engaging position and back to a retracted position under positive control.

Inventors: Clayton E. Panlaqui, Lloyd J. Holt
  • Patent number: 4103849
Abstract: Apparatus for restraining an aircraft against the combined forces of a cault launching shuttle and aircraft takeoff power during a catapult assisted takeoff until a predetermined combined force level has been reached. Release of the aircraft is triggered by the relative movement of a central piston within a housing which causes disengagement of gripping lugs from a tensile bar attached to the aircraft. The relative movement is enabled by the compressibility of hydraulic oil confined within the apparatus and loaded by the combined forces.

Inventors: Lloyd J. Holt, Clayton E. Panlaqui
  • Patent number: H213
Abstract: A desiccant containing plug for insertion through a launcher tube into a sle containing tube which is coaxially received in one end of the launcher tube. The plug has a perforate end which extends into the container tube and which is circumscribed by a humidity sealing ring fitted to the container tube interior. The plug has a valve disk disposed at the perforate end and actuated from the closed end to open and close communication through the perforate end to the desiccant.
