The fluid collection system includes a fluid collection device having a chamber and configured to collect fluid from a user in the chamber. The fluid collection system includes a first conduit in fluid communication with the chamber of the fluid collection device. The fluid collection system includes a handheld pump unit connected or connectable to the first conduit and including a pump configured to create a negative pressure to draw fluid from the chamber of the fluid collection device through the first conduit. The fluid collection system includes a fluid storage container having an interior region in fluid communication with the first conduit and configured to collect fluid drawn from the chamber of the fluid collection device through the first conduit.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the disclosure provide systems and methods for diagnosing and treating chronic liver disease and portal vein thrombosis. In particular, methods may include measuring levels of one or more proteins, including factor V, factor VIII, protein C, protein S, D-dimer, sP-selectin, or asTF in a biological sample from a subject and determining a CLD score based on the levels of the one or more proteins, whereby, a CLD stage may be determined based on the CLD score. In some aspects, methods may include determining a PVT score based on levels of the one or more proteins in the biological sample. In some aspects, methods further include treating CLD and/or PVT.

Abstract: The present invention is a novel blood or plasma panel with utility in assessing chronic liver disease severity in a point-of-care setting. The scoring system exhibits 97.2% correlation to previously assigned Child Pugh scores and does not require clinical assessment beyond laboratory testing.

Abstract: A document management system is provided for integrating documents generated in an enterprise into an enterprise data store where the documents can be accessed later. Documents in a first format and a specification containing instructions for describing the documents are provided. The documents are received in a second format, along with descriptions of the documents. The documents in the second format are imported into the data store responsive to the descriptions so that they may be located easily. Beneficially, the invention provides simpler and more flexible conversion and indexing processes for users seeking to electronically store and access documents after their creation.
