  • Patent number: 8862277
Abstract: A method and system for monitoring the dynamic response of soil moisture and setting a threshold in relation to the field capacity of a soil area is disclosed herein. By measuring the dynamic response of soil moisture under wet soil conditions, one can determine a practical field capacity for the soil, in-situ, based solely on the soil moisture sensor output. Essentially, by looking at how the soil moisture level varies with time one can determine the field capacity.

  • Patent number: 8565927
Abstract: A irrigation interrupter is disclosed herein. The irrigation interrupter learns the watering patterns established by an irrigation controller and takes action to intelligently limit watering based on knowledge of time, temperature and soil moisture. The interrupter learns the watering pattern of the controller by monitoring behavior over a set period (two weeks), and mapping the start and duration of each zone's irrigation. A default profile is preferably set to enable users to ignore a setting and only adjust it after observing overall plant results.

  • Patent number: 8396656
Abstract: A device, system and method for latent tracking of vessels via a mesh network is disclosed herein. The device includes a microcontroller, a mesh radio, a memory, a GPS receiver and a power supply. The microcontroller is configured to determine when the device is within range and out of range of a mesh network. The memory is configured for storing latent information about the vessel. The GPS receiver receives GPS signals and provides the GPS signals to determine GPS data for the vessel which is transmitted over the mesh radio when the device is within range of the mesh network and stored as latent GPS data in the memory when the device is out of range of the mesh network.

  • Publication number: 20090198603
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for assuring the payment according to a repayment schedule of an obligation for using equipment by a device on the equipment. A subset of a plurality reference codes is selected. The current time and date and time are maintained. Reference codes in the subset are assigned to a specific time interval, wherein the specific time interval is a portion of a time period corresponding to repayment schedule of the obligation for using the equipment. The subset of the plurality of codes, the specific individual time interval to which each code is assigned, and the time period is stored. A user code is received via an interface. The received user code is compared to the subset of reference codes, the current time, current date, and time period corresponding to repayment schedule of the obligation. Based on the results of the comparison the equipment is disabled.
