Abstract: Techniques for facilitating transactions for electronic content items are described. Some embodiments provide a media marketplace system that provides a marketplace for electronic content items, such as songs, videos, electronic books, and the like. In some embodiments, the media marketplace system facilitates group purchase discount transactions. A group discount transaction provides for the sale of an electronic content item at a discounted price if a sufficient number of buyers indicate a willingness to purchase the electronic content item at the discounted price within a limited time period.
