    Abstract: A liquid dye composition comprising an organic solvent-soluble premetallized azo dyestuff in a volatile organic solvent medium, said composition further containing a finely divided silica thickening agent and/or xylol, toluol, perchlorethylene or mineral spirits or any mixture thereof. A process for coloring a porous substrate, preferably stone, comprising applying thereto a liquid dye composition comprising an organic solvent-soluble premetallized azo dyestuff in a volatile organic solvent medium, said composition being preferably as described above, and allowing the composition to penetrate the substrate, preferably followed by treating the penetrated substrate with an aqueous solution of a copper salt or a polymerizable organic siliconate, and then removing any excess unpenetrated composition from the substrate.

    Abstract: A dye solution for coloring a substrate, especially porous stone, comprising an oxidation base, acetic acid, and about 0.02 to about 0.3 mole, per mole of said oxidation base, of a C.sub.8-16 alkyl benzene sulfonic acid, especially dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid, in a volatile organic solvent medium, and a method of coloring a porous substrate therewith involving post-treatment with an oxidizing agent, especially aqueous hydrogen peroxide of about 1 to about 9 wt. % concentration.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a black dye formulation capable of high concentration in solution which imparts light fast, rich bloomy black shades found to be particularly desirable for printing and dyeing of textiles composed of cationic fibers, such as acrylics nylon, dacrons, polyesters, acetates, or mixtures thereof which formulation consists essentially of a triarylmethane dye portion and a methine dye portion combined in a ratio between about 1:1.2 and 1:2.8 and wherein the triarylmethane portion is composed of C.I. Basic Blue 1 or a mixture of C.I. Basic Blue 1 and C.I. Basic Blue 5 and the methine portion is composed of a mixture of C.I. Basic Violet 16; C.I. Basic Yellow 29 and C.I. Basic Orange 21.
