Patent number: 12499498Abstract: A computer-implemented method and a computer program product for optimizing groupings in a breakout session in a virtual classroom. A computer retrieves profiles of students in the virtual classroom, where the profiles of the students include data of academic performances of the students. The computer retrieves a known correspondents archive which includes historic data of productivities correlated to interactions among the students. In response to initialization of the breakout session in the virtual classroom, the computer determines optimal groups that yield most productive results, based on the profiles of the students, the known correspondents archive, and requirements of group settings given by an instructor, using a machine learning model. The computer provides the instructor with the optimal groups. In another embodiment, the computer analyzes context of customized assignments for the breakout session and determines the optimal groups further based on the context to the customized assignments.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2021Date of Patent: December 16, 2025Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Jacob Thomas Covell, Pranav Chunduri, Clarissa Ho, Clement Decrop

Patent number: 12405827Abstract: An embodiment includes tokenizing a code segment generated by an integrated development environment responsive to user input, the tokenizing resulting in a tokenized code segment. The embodiment generates a search query by analyzing the tokenized code segment using a trained neural network. The embodiment executes a querying process that searches a knowledge base using the search query for a hardware requirement associated with the code segment, and detects a search result that conveys the hardware requirement as including a specialized hardware resource. The embodiment generates a time allotment associated with execution of the code segment using a second trained neural network that predicts the time allotment based on the tokenized code segment. The embodiment issues an instruction associated with the code segment to a hardware scheduler causing the hardware scheduler to allocate the specialized hardware resource for an amount of time corresponding to the time allotment.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2022Date of Patent: September 2, 2025Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Clement Decrop, Abhishek Malvankar, John M. Patent number: 12302206Abstract: In an approach for monitoring a user's in-flight activity and/or a pattern of movement of a user and warning the user of an in-flight activity or a pattern of movement that could lead to a potential short-term or long-term injury, a processor monitors a body movement and a posture of a user through an application of micro-location analysis enabled by a mesh network of 5G sensors over a period of time. A processor determines whether the body movement and the posture detected can lead to an activity or a series of activities that can result in a potential injury. Responsive to determining a pre-set threshold of risk has been reached, a processor issues a real time alert to the user to warn of the potential injury.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2021Date of Patent: May 13, 2025Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Clement Decrop, Michael Bender, Hernan A.
