Publication number: 20240133198Abstract: A pool wave generator having a pool area and a plurality of chambers for generating a wave in the pool area. Exemplary embodiments include using exhaust valves in each chamber to control the performance of fans. Measuring the power consumed by the fans in real time allows determination of the amount of air to be evacuated from the pneumatic system (and thus an opening angle of the exhaust valves) so that the fans operate at maximum efficiency and with less instability. In an exemplary embodiment, a valve mounted on the fan inlet allows the incoming air flow to be controlled, thereby allow the motors to continue rotating at a given speed with little or no energy consumption when the valve is partially or fully closed.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Clement Ginestet, Axel Terradillos

Patent number: 11891834Abstract: A pool wave generator having a pool area and a plurality of chambers for generating a wave in the pool area. Exemplary embodiments described herein may be used to control the fluid flow within the pool area. For example, exemplary embodiments may include a control system for selecting the position of one or more valves of the chamber in order to control the ingress and egress of water from the chamber. Exemplary embodiments may be used to control the wave generated from the chambers, reduced unwanted turbulence, and/or generated a designed wave based on the individual control of the respective chambers.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2022Date of Patent: February 6, 2024Assignee: WHITEWATER WEST INDUSTRIES LTD.Inventors: Clement Ginestet, Alexander Wynne-Edwards, Nicholas Dortmans, Axel Terradillos

Publication number: 20240011312Abstract: A pool wave generator is disclosed having a pool area and a plurality of chambers for generating a wave in the pool area. Exemplary embodiments described herein may be used to control the fluid flow within the pool area. For example, exemplary embodiments may include oblique angled lateral side walls on opposing sides of the wall comprising the plurality of chambers. Exemplary embodiments may also include one or more additional water structures for receiving, controlling, and/or directing water generated from a wave. The water structures may be configured to reduce an amount of water directly returning into the water at the same location as it exits thereby minimizing currents back into the water toward the plurality of chambers.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2021Publication date: January 11, 2024Inventors: Alexander Wynne-Edwards, Andrew Tymiak, Clement Ginestet

Publication number: 20230166195Abstract: A wave generating apparatus mobile application controller and method are provided in which a mobile controller actuates a plurality of wave generating chambers in sequence using a delay between the actuation of each chamber to produce a rideable wave in a pool. The mobile application controller allows the user to select the exact type of wave to be produced by the wave generator apparatus by selecting the size, shape, and pattern of the wave. The application also allows the user to use a camera to photograph or record herself or someone else, even while riding a wave.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 25, 2022Publication date: June 1, 2023Inventors: Bruce McFarland, Clement Ginestet
