  • Patent number: 4464923
Abstract: Thin-wall, corrugated pipe having alternating, annular ridges and valleys along its length is bent between a pair of die parts selectively to reform the normal configuration of a valley and change the linear distance between segments of a pair of ridges adjacent said valley thereby to form an incremental bend in the pipe. Thereafter, a predetermined number of incremental bends are formed in consecutive valleys to obtain a desired angle of bend. A radial angle fixture is engaged on one end of the pipe to determine and maintain the radial position of the pipe during the bending of the pipe, and a bend angle protractor is provided to determine precisely the angle to which the pipe is bent. The radial angle fixture further serves to maintain the pipe entering the bending tool perpendicular to the plane of the pair of dies.
