  • Patent number: 9632008
Abstract: A method for detecting a failure of a charge air cooler placed in an air supply circuit of an engine, the circuit including an air filter and a compressor. The method is performed continuously and repeatedly. The method includes: determining temperature Tair of the air between the filter and the compressor, the temperature of the air Tapc between the compressor and the cooler, and the temperature of the air Tsras between the cooler and the engine; calculating the Tapc-Tsras/Tapc-Tair ratio, which is a parameter indicative of effectiveness of the cooler; comparing the parameter against a predetermined threshold effectiveness value; and making a diagnosis as to whether the cooler is operating correctly or incorrectly, on the basis of the comparison.

  • Patent number: 9193296
Abstract: A motor vehicle driving assistance method including at least one electric motor powered by a battery and capable of driving drive wheels of the vehicle, the method including calculating an optimized consumption for the vehicle from an actual power consumption of the vehicle and from values collected by sensors of the vehicle, over a same path that the vehicle is in a process of traveling, the optimized consumption corresponding to a reference driving style; and informing the driver of a distance that he/she could travel using the power supply available on-board the vehicle if he/she were to adopt the reference driving style, or else the driver is informed of energy savings per unit of distance traveled that he/she might obtain if the reference driving style were adopted.

  • Patent number: 8342015
Abstract: A method for diagnosing a failure of an EGR circuit of an engine including an EGR exchanger, an EGR valve, a bypass duct of the EGR exchanger, and a bypass flap arranged upstream from the EGR exchanger and the bypass duct to adjust a proportion of exhaust gases flowing therethrough. The EGR circuit can be activated according to a cooled mode, in which the flap is shut, or according to a bypass mode, in which the flat is open. The method carries out, during a diagnosis phase, two activations of the flap, and measures an average of variations of the EGR gas temperature at an outlet of the EGR exchanger during the diagnosis phase.

  • Publication number: 20100307231
Abstract: A method for diagnosing a failure of an EGR circuit in an engine that includes an EGR exchanger, an EGR valve, an EGR exchanger bypass duct, and a bypass flap located upstream from the EGR exchanger and the bypass circuit in order to adjust the proportion of exhaust gases flowing therethrough. The EGR circuit can be activated in a cooled mode in which the flap is shut and in a bypass mode in which the flap is open. The method estimates the temperature of the exhaust gases at the outlet of the EGR exchanger when the EGR circuit is in the bypass mode.
