  • Patent number: 5429433
Abstract: A molded refrigerator shelf useful for containment of spills on the shelf includes a planar shelf member with a rim molded around the perimeter edge of the shelf member to form a liquid tight seal between the rim and the shelf member. The molded rim projects above the top surface of the shelf member to form a liquid dam for containing spills to the shelf member. In one form, the shelf is slideably mounted to allow horizontal extension of the shelf and convenient access to the rear portion of the shelf using slide guides molded into the rim along each side of the shelf. The shelf is cantilevered upon support brackets from the rear wall of a refrigerator to allow air flow around the shelf sides. The support brackets are adapted to support the shelf at a plurality of vertical positions.

  • Patent number: 4858988
Abstract: A vehicular window assembly such as a front windshield in the preferred embodiment includes a window panel and a casing molded on a first portion of the peripheral edge of the window panel. A trim strip covers and finishes portions of the periphery of the assembly. The trim strip extends continuously without interruption from the window panel edge to a mounting rib on the casing through a transition area. The trim continues along the casing and is spaced from the window panel edge. When installed, the casing and trim strip fill the space between the window panel and vehicle body to reduce wind noise when the vehicle is moving and improve weather sealing around the window.

  • Patent number: 4502248
Abstract: The specification discloses a vehicle window assembly including a slidable window glass supported by and guided along only one edge of the glass. More specifically, the assembly comprises a window glass, a molded guide bonded to one edge of the glass, and a pillar defining a channel in which the guide is slidingly received. The pillar and guide cooperate to permit the guide to move axially within the channel and to prevent the guide from passing transversely out of the channel so that the window glass must travel in a linear path. Also disclosed is a latch supported by the glass and extending through the guide. The latch includes an actuating portion located outside the pillar and a catch portion located and hidden within the pillar.

  • Patent number: 4363191
Abstract: A hinged window assembly for vehicles and the like comprises a rigid support having a base fastened to the upper side of a window frame, and a depending flange with a free edge. An edge molding strip envelops the periphery of a window pane, and includes a flexible hinge segment with one portion adhered to the support flange adjacent the free edge thereof to pivotally mount the window pane in the frame. An inner portion of the hinge segment forms a web which extends over and covers the flange interior to the support base, thereby forming a flexible seal. The web is unattached to the interior surface of the support flange, such that the window can be pivoted beyond a normally fully open position to conveniently install the window in the frame without damaging the seal.

  • Patent number: 4072340
Abstract: A vehicular window assembly formed as a complete unit prior to installation and adapted to be installed as a unit from the exterior of the vehicle body with only final securement of attaching means being necessary from the interior of the vehicle body. The assembly includes a molded plastic casing or gasket, a transparent window covering an aperture in the casing and an attachment member for attaching the casing to the body having a portion molded or embedded within the casing. The attaching portion preferably includes a frame bezel and retaining projections extending into the casing or gasket on one side of the frame. Together with the resilient gasket or casing, the projections accommodate any deviations in contour or curvature between the frame and window. The gasket or casing is preferably injection molded polyvinyl chloride.
