  • Patent number: 11399265
Abstract: Example implementations described herein are directed to connecting and configuring a device to be configured into an Internet of Things (IoT) system through utilizing a mobile device. The mobile device is provided with an application that will provision and commission a device to be configured into the IoT system. Through example implementations described herein, the mobile device allows for a device to be configured to be connected to an IoT system even if no network connectivity is available for the device to be configured. The mobile device also provides sensor data in real time to determine if the device to be configured is properly configured.

  • Patent number: 10592315
Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating communication with at least one software container are presented. In an example embodiment, a first messaging client executing on a computing system subscribes to a messaging topic at a messaging broker executing in the system. The subscribing to the messaging topic includes providing an identifier corresponding to the first messaging client. A second messaging client executing on the system publishes a message for the messaging topic to the messaging broker. The messaging broker forwards the published message to the first messaging client based on the subscribing to the messaging topic by the first messaging client. One or both of the first messaging client and the second messaging client execute in corresponding software containers in the system.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 17, 2020
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Stella Sheung-Ting Yu, Clifford A. Collins, Arash Bannazadeh-Mahani
  • Patent number: 10541860
Abstract: Systems and methods for filtering a large group of devices are presented. In an example embodiment, a value is accessed for each of a plurality of attributes for each of a plurality of devices. Also accessed is a filter set including one or more filters. Each of the filters comprises one of the attributes, a filter value, and a relational operator relating the attribute to the filter value. The attribute of at least one of the filters indicates an event applicable to individual devices, and a corresponding filter value indicates whether to filter the devices based on the presence or absence of a previous occurrence of the event. The filter set is compared to the attributes of each of the devices to identify those of the devices that satisfy all of the filters of the filter set. A representation of at least some of the identified devices is displayed.

  • Patent number: 10079898
Abstract: This disclosure provides for a system and method for managing network-connected industrial assets. The network-connected assets include a sensor controller affixed to a shipping container, where the sensor controller is communicatively coupled to one or more sensors. The one or more sensors monitor the shipping container and/or the contents stored therein. When located at an origin location, the sensor controller is communicatively coupled to a first Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) machine via a first network. A client device can communicate with the sensor controller via the first IIoT machine. When the shipping container is shipped to a destination location, the sensor controller connects to a second network at the destination location. At the second network, another IIoT machine communicates with the sensor controller. The client device then receives sensor data from the sensor controller via the second IIoT machine.
