Patent number: 6022393Abstract: A filter assembly is formed of an impervious elongated tubular housing and an elongated filter member positioned within the housing with its opposed longitudinal edges sealed to the housing internal tubular surface. A first barrier is interposed between the filter member first surface and the housing internal tubular surface adjacent the housing inlet end and a second barrier is interposed between the filter member second surface and the housing internal tubular surface adjacent the housing outlet end. Air flowing into the housing inlet end passes through the filter member before exiting at the outlet end.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1998Date of Patent: February 8, 2000Assignee: Purolator Products CompanyInventor: Clifford D. Patent number: 5902365Abstract: A filter assembly is formed of an impervious elongated tubular housing and an elongated filter member positioned within the housing. In a first embodiment a barrier is interposed between a filter member first surface and the housing internal tubular surface adjacent the housing inlet end and another barrier is interposed between the filter member second surface and the housing internal tubular surface adjacent the housing outlet end. In a second embodiment, the filter member is formed of a pleated sheet, the pleats being folded at their ends, and the pleated sheet is formed into a frusto-conical shape with the conical base secured to the tubular housing interior surface. Air flowing into the housing inlet end passes through the filter member before exiting at the outlet end.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 1998Date of Patent: May 11, 1999Assignee: Purolator Products CompanyInventor: Clifford D. Patent number: 5522909Abstract: An air filter device. The device includes a flat, closed top and an axially aligned open base larger in diameter than the top. Frusto conical filter media extends between the top and the base, the filter media having an axis aligned with the top and the base. An axially aligned, inverted cone extends from the flat, closed top toward the base.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1994Date of Patent: June 4, 1996Assignee: Purolator Products NA, Inc.Inventor: Clifford D. Patent number: 5269571Abstract: The present invention is a clip for securing the nipple of a fuel filter within a fuel line connector assembly housing provided on a fuel line in order to secure the fuel filter to the fuel line. The clip is provided with a horizontally oriented connecting segment having two ends. Each end of the connecting segment is provided with a leg that extends downward therefrom. The legs are spaced apart from each other so as to be insertable through openings provided in the connector assembly housing. Each of the legs is provided with a flipper, with the flipper of one leg being offset from the flipper of the other leg with respect to a horizontal center line of the nipple when the nipple is installed in the connector assembly housing. The flippers are oriented toward the opposing legs so that as the nipple is inserted into the connector assembly housing, the nipple is forced between the flippers and the legs, causing the legs to rotate and squeeze the nipple.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1992Date of Patent: December 14, 1993Assignee: Purolator Products, Inc.Inventor: Clifford D.
