Abstract: A wireless receiver having a first and second housings one of which contains a wireless signal transmission and receiving means. The other housing preferably contains a power supply and possibly a battery back-up for use in the event of a cut in the power supply. The two housings are hinged together. They are relatively movable between one position in which the two housings depend one from another so as to be mounted upon a vertical wall and another position in which the two housings are disposed one behind the other for supporting upon a horizontal surface. Preferably, in the position for mounting upon a wall, the two housings provide rear planar surfaces which are coplanar and in the other position for mounting upon a horizontal surface the two housings provide planar support surfaces for supporting them upon the horizontal surface.

Abstract: An interactive subscriber telephone terminal, comprising: a display screen; a plurality of temporarily definable response/data entry keys; and local control means for selectively causing the display screen and/or the response/data entry keys to be controlled by one of: remote signals transmitted to the terminal from a telephone switching office, and the local control means.

Abstract: Electronic unit of printed circuit board with electronic components on one side and its other side in heat conducting contact with a heat sink enables the electronic components to be sealed from ambient atmosphere and thus unpackaged chips may be used. The units are mountable in a support frame with air cooling passages of the heat sinks extending vertically for convected cooling air. In each unit, a resistor network may extend into a cavity formed in a heat exchange rib and an electronic chip, perhaps unpackaged in the sealed environment, may be in heat conductive relationship with the heat sink.

Abstract: A telephone set which may be readily changed from a desk unit to a wall mounted unit without tools and without removing and re-installing any receiver-retaining parts or components has a handset with a receiver portion and a transmitter portion and a base with a transmitter portion receiving depression and a receiver portion receiving depression. An arm unit mounts within the receiver portion receiving depression. The arm unit has a pair of spaced apart side arms joined at one end by a transverse member. The arm unit has a pivotal mounting arrangement that enables the arm unit to move between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the set is used as a desk unit with the side arms at the sides of the receiver portion receiving depression and the transverse member is at the end of the receiver portion receiving depression nearer the transmitter portion receiving depression. In the second position the set is used as a wall unit with the side arms extending outwardly from the base.
