    Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide methods and apparatus enabling multiple unmanned cargo deliveries in a single mission. An assembly having multiple hooks may be coupled to an unmanned vehicle via a cable. Prior to a mission originating at a starting location, multiple cargo loads may each be loaded on to a respective pallet, wrapped in a cargo delivery net, and attached to one of the hooks. A ground controller may instruct the unmanned vehicle to deliver the cargo loads to separate locations. The unmanned delivery vehicle may navigate to a first delivery location, perform delivery of a first cargo load by causing the hook on the assembly to release the first load, autonomously exit the first location and navigate to a second delivery location without returning to the starting location, and perform delivery of a second cargo load by causing the hook on the assembly to release the second load.

    Abstract: In a helicopter having a main rotor with blades controlled in pitch by servo flaps the servo flaps are arranged in advance of the leading edges of the blade to provide increased lift efficiency of the rotor system. The signals for controlling the pitches of the blade are generated by a computer implemented means responsive to pilot command signals and flight parameter signals and are transmitted from the stationary structure of the helicopter to the rotating structure through a non-mechanical stationary-to-rotary interface. An active stabilization system is associated with each rotor blade to overcome the instability previously associated with leading edge servo flaps and to reduce the complexity of the control signals needed to be produced by the control signal generating means.

    Abstract: A novel system for determining the magnitudes of loads on rotating helicopter components from signals remotely measured on the helicopter fuselage is characterized by a processor which decomposes the measured signals into corresponding Fourier components and extracts selected components therefrom. A programming module performs a multiplication on the respective Fourier components to correlate the measured components with corresponding determinative parameter values. The parameter values are established in a calibration process which is characterized by determination of the independent values of a measured signal set using a Jones orthogonalization process. The signals output from the coefficient programming module are provided to a multiplying resolver which receives synthesized reference sinusoids from a digital processor and generates time dependent signal components therefrom. These signals are ultimately summed in an analog summer circuit whose output signal corresponds to the desired parameter signal.
