  • Patent number: 5076210
Abstract: Apparatus for displaying and dispensing live market fish for retail sale includes a carousel for receiving, holding and moving a plurality of removable fish cages containing live market fish from a storage location, through a display location, to a dispensing position within a store based, water filled, open-top aquarium tank. Full fish cages are loaded onto the carousel within the aquarium and are sequentially emptied on a first-in-first-out basis as fish are purchased by consumers. Each removable fish cage is a tubular structure formed by a longitudinal `U`-shaped screen a hinged longitudinal transparent top and a structure at either end adapted for mounting onto the carousel. The carousel orients the transparent top of each mounted fish cage vertically at the display location and horizontally at the dispensing position.

  • Patent number: 4000737
Abstract: An inexpensive adjustable protective device for preventing bedding, clothing and the like from touching and/or rubbing upon a recent surgical incision is described. The device includes at least one longitudinal strip composed of a light rigid material such as plastic supported by several separate rigid support legs composed of the same material. The support elements have an adhesive tab at their distal ends adapted to adhere to the skin surface. On one embodiment, the longitudinal strip has a plurality of female receptacles along its length for receiving a male fastening element integral with the support legs. The support strips hold the longitudinal strip in a spaced relationship above the incision site, thus preventing bedding and/or clothing or similar articles from rubbing against or touching the incision site. The shield is adjustable to incision length by simply cutting or tearing off a suitable length of the longitudinal strip.

  • Patent number: 3987734
Abstract: A modular rapid transportation system is described which features transport modules for carrying passengers and/or freight, high-speed, constant-velocity conveyors for transporting the transport modules from station to station and variable-speed transfer vehicles at the stations capable of matching velocities with the high-speed conveyors for loading and unloading the transport modules onto and off of the conveyors. A station in the system is located between at least two oppositely-moving, constant-velocity conveyors and includes at least two closed-circuit, overhead rails above the constant-velocity conveyors. The transfer vehicle travelling on a rail accelerates from a loading/unloading section of the rail with a transport module and matches the velocity of one of the constant-velocity conveyors, transfers the transport module to that conveyor and then moves to a storage section of the rail.
