  • Patent number: 4409957
Abstract: An apparatus for melting snow is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a heating chamber which is vented to the atmosphere, with the heating chamber including an upper portion and a lower portion. Spaced heat exchangers are positioned in the lower portion, which are heated by hot gas flowing therethrough. The heat exchangers exhaust the hot gas into the heating chamber so that heat is applied to the snow via the heat exchangers and directly by the discharge of hot gas into the heating chamber. Drain means are also included for draining water from the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4252377
Abstract: A vehicle tire blowout protector is disclosed which comprises a first sidewall member with a peripheral shoulder having sufficient strength to support the vehicle. The sidewall member is mounted to the vehicle wheel so that it is adjacent to one side of the vehicle tire, and the peripheral shoulder is concentric to, and of a somewhat smaller outer diameter than, the vehicle tire.

  • Patent number: 4230330
Abstract: A skateboard is disclosed which has a chassis, an axle and wheel assembly, and a board, with the board extending beyond one of the axles to provide an overhanging portion. A stop pad is mounted to the underside of the skateboard in the vicinity of the overhanging portion, said stop pad generally facing the ground when the skateboard is in operational position. Therefore, by shifting weight to the overhanging portion, the rider can tilt the board, causing the stop pad to contact the ground, thereby stopping or at least slowing the skateboard. The board may be rotatably mounted to the chassis, thus allowing the rider to spin in a circle while the skateboard is following a linear course.
