  • Patent number: 10612590
Abstract: A buoyancy-enhanced loop drive system includes upper and lower gears, a helical drive loop extending around and rotatably engaging the upper and lower gears, and a tank configured to retain a liquid medium. An ascending side of the drive loop extends through the tank. In some embodiments, the drive loop includes a plurality of sections, and adjacent sections are rotatable with respect to each other about an axis normal to an end face of the sections. Additionally or alternatively, the ascending side of the drive loop advances through an inlet seal via an exit port defined in an exit wall oriented perpendicular to the exit direction. Additionally or alternatively, an intermediate plate is coupled to an inlet housing for rotation about a vertical axis, and to a stationary support structure for bi-directional translation.

  • Patent number: 9439074
Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and programs for protecting data on a wireless device may include a wireless device having a computer platform with a processing engine operable, based upon configurable parameters, to log data access attempt on the wireless device and transmit the log to a remote device. Furthermore, the wireless device may be configured to execute locally and remotely generated control commands on the wireless device, the commands operable to modify an operation of the wireless device. The embodiment may also include an apparatus operable to receive the transmitted log, analyze the received log and transmit a control command to the wireless device. The apparatus may further generate a data access report and make the report available to an authorized user.

  • Patent number: 7210002
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide for a system and method for storing data in a flash memory device that has a code bank and a data bank. The method includes writing data to the data bank under control of a flash driver in the code bank when sufficient space is expected to exist in the data bank. Otherwise, the method includes writing data to the code bank under control of a flash driver in a storage device that is external to the flash memory device.

  • Patent number: 7136379
Abstract: A device for interconnecting and multiplexing a plurality of interfaces is disclosed. In the preferred embodiment, three serial communications ports are interfaced such that any two may be interconnected for communications. A novel circuit comprising a plurality of buffers is employed to allow selection of the interconnection scheme by a controller. The design is scalable and is characterized by low cost, low printed circuit board area requirements, and graceful function. In the preferred embodiment, a PDA, wireless transceiver, and cradle interface of a personal communications device are effectively interconnected and multiplexed.

  • Patent number: 6895237
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method for allowing a user to conveniently receive an incoming wireless telephone call. After the phone rings once, the receiving party checks his caller ID and realizes he wants to take the call but does not want to disrupt his/her current surroundings. The user receiving the call presses a pre-programmed soft key on the phone. The phone plays a prerecorded message audible only to the calling party. While the message is played, the user has the opportunity to exit a crowded public area or meeting place. The prerecorded message is stored in memory on the phone itself in one embodiment of the invention. In another embodiment of the invention, the memo is stored externally from the phone, within the network infrastructure equipment or perhaps in yet another third party location accessible in real (or near real) time.
