  • Patent number: 9816334
Abstract: A process for forming a coil of scrap tubing includes the steps of forming a turntable having at least one longitudinal member extending upwardly therefrom, extending a length of the tubing to the turntable, rotating the turntable such that the tubing wraps around the longitudinal member so as to form the coil, and lifting the coil from the turntable that above the longitudinal member. An end of the scrap tubing from the reel is fixed to the turntable prior to the step of rotating. The longitudinal member includes a panel extending upwardly from the turntable and an arm pivotally mounted adjacent an end of the panel opposite the turntable. A forklift is used to lift the coil from the turntable.

  • Patent number: 9388017
Abstract: An accumulator apparatus for strip steel has a base, a frame extending upwardly from the base, a reel rotatably mounted to the frame and having a surface suitable for wrapping the strip steel therearound, and at least two wheels connected to the base and extending therebelow. The wheels are extendable such that the base is supported above an underlying surface and retracted such that the base is supported by the underlying surface. A motor is cooperative with each of the wheels so as to cause rotational movement thereof. A steering controller is cooperative with each of the wheels so as to control an angular direction of the wheel. An air brake is affixed to the frame and cooperative at the reel so as to stop or slow a rotation of the reel.

  • Patent number: 7958762
Abstract: An apparatus for straightening a coiled tubing has an injector that receives the coiled tubing, a straighter that straightens the coiled tubing from the injector, and a shear that cuts the straightened coiled tubing. The straightener has a frame having a first section rotatably connected to a second section, an actuator connected to the second section, and a straightening wheel connected to the actuator. The injector has a first drive chain and a second drive chain. The first and second drive chains each have semi-circular members forming circular channels that grab an outer surface of the coiled tubing. The shear has a trolley, a clamp, a tubing cutter, a return mechanism, and an automated controller. The automated controller actuates the clamp and the tubing cutter while the trolley translates along rails from a first position to a second position.

  • Patent number: 7380605
Abstract: A method of forming an energy transfer loop in the earth has the steps of connecting a tubing to a nose member, extending a liquid delivery pipe to the nose member, pumping a liquid through the liquid delivery pipe to the nose member, jetting the liquid from the nose member so as to form an excavation in the earth and pushing the nose member downwardly through the opening in the earth a desired distance below a surface of the earth. A jacket can be affixed around the liquid delivery pipe so as to allow the liquid delivery pipe to be removed from the nose member subsequent to the installation in the earth.
