  • Patent number: 8220160
Abstract: A utility knife includes a handle body having sidewall portions defining a guide channel, a blade shuttle mounted for extension and retraction movement within the guide channel, and a hand-grip lever coupled to the handle body at a fulcrum for pivotal movement between an at-rest position in which the blade shuttle is in a non-use position, to an in-use position in which the blade shuttle is in an extended position. In the non-use position, a blade mounted on the blade shuttle is enclosed in the guide channel. In the extended position, a portion of the blade projects from the guide channel. The hand-grip lever is rotatably coupled to the blade shuttle through a transmission comprising a pin coupled to the lever such that a distance from the fulcrum to the pin stays substantially fixed as the lever pivots between the at-rest and in-use positions.

  • Publication number: 20030028148
Abstract: A disposable medical tubing holder and stabilizer comprising a base layer and a pair of opposing hook and loop regions located on a top planar surface of a base layer. A primary adhesive region selectively sized to receive a length of medical tubing is located between the opposing hook and loop regions on the top planar surface so as to separate the opposing hook and loop regions. The opposing hook and loop regions are foldable about the primary adhesive region to thereby form an engaged sheath about the medical tubing to secure the medical tubing to the tubing holder. A secondary adhesive region is located on the bottom planar surface of the base layer and is engageable on a target surface for stabilizing a medical tubing on the target surface.

  • Patent number: 4789348
Abstract: A connector having a unitary dust cover. The dust cover is formed by a cap fitting on one side of the connector and two flaps attached to the cap, each flap adapted to cover a portion of the other side of the connector, which may have attached posts to allow the connector to be used in modular fashion with a base plate. At least one flap may be held between the posts by indentations in the flap.

  • Patent number: 4741032
Abstract: A telephone network interface device adapted to be connected to and in between a telephone subscriber premise wiring and a Telephone Company owned subscriber loop comprising a backwall and a sidewall affixed to the sidewall delimiting a cavity in which there is: first and second sets of terminals connected to the backwall and a device to place the terminals of the first set in removably electrical communication with the second set of terminals, the first set of terminals comprising first and second spaced-apart dielectric blocks, each dielectric block containing a plurality of terminals and a plurality of first slots in a first surface and a second slot in a second surface, each of the first slots in the first dielectric block being in alignment with one of the first slots in the second dielectric block and disposed essentially perpendicular to the base and the second slots are mechanically and slideably fitted over a rib on the base so that the dielectric blocks may be slideably moved towards and away from o

  • Patent number: 4666225
Abstract: An electrical jack having a jack door biased so as to block the opening of a passage within the jack housing when the jack is not in use and which unblocks the passage in response to insertion of a plug within the passage. The jack door may contain slots for slideably receiving electrical contacts embedded in a dielectric body within the housing. When a plug is inserted the electrical contacts engage electrically with the plug. Upon removal of the plug the jack door is urged to reblock the passage.

  • Patent number: 4225085
Abstract: Disclosed is a shower head dispenser for bath oil and the like which includes a body member with an axial bore adapted for insertion between a shower line and a shower head. The body member has two longitudinally spaced apertures or transverse bores in its side wall which communicate between the axial bore and a detachable oil container. It has a dam extending transversely across the bore. One of the apertures intercepts the axial bore at the crest of the dam, and the other aperture intercepts the axial bore upstream of the dam. The oil container has an integral valve stem thereon which seats in the end of the downstream transverse bore, and metering is achieved by rotation of the container. When water passes through the axial bore of the body member, the greater pressure at the upstream bore or aperture forces oil out of the container through the downstream bore or aperture into the axial bore at the dam, where it mixes with water enroute to the shower head.
