Abstract: An adjustable spring grounding pin for grounding separate parts of an electrical device, for example end shields and a stator of an electric motor, automatically adjusts its circumferential dimension to provide a tight grounding fit between aligned holes of different interior diameters in the end shields and the stator of the device as the grounding pin is driven into the aligned holes.

Abstract: A bearing retainer ring having a compliant tab is mounted on a motor shaft between a C-ring mounted on the shaft and one or more washers and a bearing mounted on the shaft. After completion of the construction of the electric motor, the shaft is loaded axially, deforming the projecting tab and providing axial end play between the bearing and its adjacent washer.

Abstract: A two position switch of an electric motor has an actuator that is biased by a resilient terminal arm into sliding engagement with an annular collar of a centrifugal actuator. The centrifugal actuator collar controls movement of the switch actuator which closes and opens electrical contacts to energize start and run winding circuits of the motor. The resilient terminal arm that closes the star circuit is slotted to reduce its biasing force exerted on the actuator of the switch.

Abstract: A male electrical terminal plug for attachment with a female electrical receptacle having a tab with opposite top and bottom surfaces, opposite distal and proximate ends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tab, opposite side ends or edges perpendicular to the lateral axis of the tab, and a portion of the top surface area of the tab between opposite lateral side edges of the tab being sloped or angled relative to the remaining portion of the tab top surface from a base potion of the tab toward a beveled leading edge of the distal end of the tab.
