  • Patent number: 11892105
Abstract: A connector for connecting pipes and for use with power tongs have a die length. The connector includes a body with threaded connection portions at each end of the body on an inside surface of the body. The connector includes a gripping surface defined on an outside surface of the body between the threaded connection portions. The gripping surface is at least as long as the die length. The connector includes a reinforced portion of the body proximate each of the threaded connection portions for increasing resistance to deformation of the body upon being connected with a pipe. The gripping surface and the reinforced portion together facilitate an increase in connection torque of pipes connected with the connector.

  • Publication number: 20230203906
Abstract: A head for a well tubular. The well tubular head includes features that may be applied to a casing head or a tubing head. The well tubular head includes a bowl tubular reversibly connected with a casing connector. The bowl tubular is adapted for connecting with an uphole component of an equipment stack or other system. The bowl tubular includes a hanger profile for receiving a casing hanger or tubing hanger. The casing connector is adapted for connecting with the casing. The bowl tubular and the casing connector may be replaced independently of each oth-er. Removable connection points for flow lines may be includ-ed on the well tubular head to facilitate changing flow lines or flow line connection points. The bowl tubular may include a dri-ve system for rotating tubing.

  • Publication number: 20220235637
Abstract: A pipe connector that includes a body with opposed connection portions for connecting two pipes is provided. A protective portion extends along at least a portion of an inside surface intermediate the connection portions. The protective portion includes a protective material that is less abrasive to a rod string than the body. An inside diameter of the connector along at least a portion of the protective portion is equal to or narrower than an inside diameter at other portions of the connector for preferentially contacting the rod string with the protective material over other portions of the body. The connector may include an extended gripping portion for gripping with power tongs, and may further include a reinforced portion for increasing resistance of the pipe connector to deformation when threadedly connected with a tubing joint with the connector.

  • Patent number: 11162337
Abstract: A method and system for servicing a well. Servicing a well often includes running a service string into a production string, which may include a rod string. A service portion is provided in the production string during completion. The service portion is located at or uphole of a large rod string feature. The service portion has a greater inside diameter than production tubing and other standard production string components. The service portion provides sufficient clearance for the service string alongside the large feature. The large feature may be, for example, a PCP stator, a centralizer, or a rod collar. The large feature may be pulled uphole into the service portion prior to running in the service string, allowing servicing downhole of the large feature without pulling the entire rod string. The service portion may also mitigate rod wear in deviated or other portions of the well.

  • Publication number: 20170291787
Abstract: A coupling for use with a continuous rod and a reel, and a method of using the coupling to coil a continuous rod on the reel. The coupling includes a threaded box portion for threadedly connecting with an uphole pin end of the continuous rod. The coupling includes a connector for securing the coupling to the reel. Once secured to the reel by the coupling, the continuous rod can be coiled around the reel by rotation of the reel. In an example application, the connector may include a ring for securing the coupling to an outside guide pin of a collapsible service reel.
