Abstract: A plant pot includes a drainage hose having a first end thereof fluidically connected to the bottom of the pot. The hose is flexible and has a minimum length that is equal to the height of the pot. The hose is clamped to the top of the pot during a watering process so a second end of the hose is at, or above the top surface level of the soil in the pot. After the plant has been watered, the hose is released so the second end is released and is allowed to fall beneath the level of the bottom of the soil in the pot.
