Abstract: FIG. 1 shows a drawing instrument which is in chain dotted lines except for a lower portion of one leg of the instrument. The leg is formed generally of plastics and has a metal end piece provided with a non-needle-like or squat conical tip or point which extends from a circular base.

Abstract: A cash box has a loose coin tray which rests on a peripheral seal seated on a plain free edge defining a lip of a base of the cash box. The coin tray is supported by the seal and has a peripheral flange which rests on six inwardly directed tabs of the seal. The tray and the seal may be manufactured together as a one-piece plastics moulding and the moulding cut to separate the tray from the seal.

Abstract: A pair of compasses has legs articulated by a pivot pin. Each leg is of moulded plastics with a strengthening metal insert provided in each leg. Projecting circular parts of the inserts are overlapped and articulated together by the pin within a bow top.

Abstract: A cash box which is of rectangular shape, and comprises a top lid part and a bottom receptacle part of similar shape and depth which are hinged together at the back. The bottom part supports a coin-receiving tray having an outwardly-extending flanged rim, which seats on the top edge or lip of the bottom part and provides a seal between the two parts. This flanged rim is also adapted to cover the joint between the lid and bottom part when the cash box is closed. A lock unit is fitted in a recessed portion of the top panel of the lid part, which also accommodates a pivoted carrying handle. The lock has a locking plate that cooperates with an abutment provided by an upstanding post, which is secured to the bottom receptacle part and which passes through an aperture in the coin-receiving tray. The structure disclosed facilitates economical manufacture of a compact cash box with an efficient utilization of storage space.
