  • Patent number: 10913817
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of bis-anhydrohexitol ethers as reactive diluents in a crosslinkable resin, adhesive, coating or composite matrix composition. Not only do these products make it possible to advantageously reduce the viscosity of the mixtures obtained, but they also lead to a very small reduction in the glass transition temperature of the crosslinked mixtures, compared to other reactive diluents, while spectacularly improving the mechanical properties of the latter such as the Young's modulus, the tensile strength, the elongation at break and the toughness.

    Filed: August 8, 2016
Date of Patent: February 9, 2021

  • Patent number: 10174152
Abstract: A process for producing bis-anhydrohexitol ether compositions and in particular isohexide glycidyl ether compositions, one of the originalities of which is azeotropic distillation carried out under reduced pressure. Such compositions are used to produce epoxy resins, the function thereof being to form a three-dimensional macromolecular network. The compositions obtained according to the process are rich in diepoxy derivatives of isosorbide to the detriment of monoepoxy derivatives, only the first participating in the formation of the three-dimensional network. The crosslinking density is therefore increased, thereby making it possible to obtain a material which is more chemically resistant and mechanically stronger and which has a higher glass transition temperature (Tg), compared with the same materials obtained with bis-anhydrohexitol ether compositions according to the prior art.

  • Publication number: 20170121317
Abstract: A method for producing a composition of glycidyl ethers synthesised from furan derivatives (furan glycidyl ethers), partly characterized by azeotropic distillation performed under reduced pressure and without the addition of a catalyst. Such products are used to produce epoxy resins, with the aim of forming a three-dimensional macromolecular network. With the compositions of the invention the cross-linking density of the network is increased, allowing the production of a material which is more resistant, both chemically and mechanically, and has a higher glass transition temperature (Tg) than the same materials produced with compositions of furan glycidyl ethers synthesized at atmospheric pressure according to prior art.
