  • Publication number: 20070107678
Abstract: A fluid piston engine with a plurality of cylinders wherein the plurality of cylinders are daisy chained through a single turbine having a single impeller. The fluid piston engine has a plurality of daisy chained cylinders that burn a fuel of hydrogen, and an oxidizer of air, preferably oxygen. A method of operating a fluid piston engine with a plurality of daisy chained cylinders includes steps where the operating controls are triggered by a fluid level sensor in a cylinder. Rather than from the cylinder, combustion byproducts are exhausted through a relief valve on an accumulator. Engine performance is varied by selectively idling cylinders and by varying the relative timing of multiple pairs of cylinders, wherein each pair uses internal combustion to expel fluid out of a first cylinder, through the turbine and into the second cylinder of the pair in which the combustion gases are compressed by the circulating fluid piston.

  • Publication number: 20060065303
Abstract: A safety valve for a tank of a pressurized gas provides a check valve that shuts off gas flow from the tank if the shutoff valve receives a damaging lateral impact. The safety valve is retrofittable in existing tanks with existing shutoff valves, wherein the shutoff valve is unscrewed from the tank and screwed into the top of the safety valve, and the bottom of the safety valve is screwed into the tank. The safety valve features a breakaway stem that sacrificially breaks more easily than the remainder of the safety valve and the shutoff valve in response to a damaging lateral impact. When the breakaway stem is broken, the check valve shuts off gas flow from the tank. The breakaway stem can be replaced with a new breakaway stem without losing the pressurized gas remaining in the tank, thereby returning the tank to normal use after the breakage.

  • Publication number: 20050272523
Abstract: A golf club head comprises a front striking plate that in turn comprises a front striking surface, a rear surface, and a first boss generally centrally located on and attached to the rear surface. A rear body section is fixedly coupled to the front striking plate. A longitudinal member is adjustably coupled to the rear body section and has a first end configured for pivotal movement in engagement with the first boss. The longitudinal member applies a force of compression onto the rear surface of the striking plate.

  • Patent number: 5464211
Abstract: A hollow golf club head for a "metal wood" is disclosed wherein an internally-mounted backing plate gives strength and stability to the striking face of the club. Additionally, in the preferred embodiments, an internal apparatus is present whereby the backing plate is compressively loaded to more rigidly support the striking face of the club, thereby to make it more unyielding upon impact with a golf ball. In further embodiments, weights may be added behind the backing plate in alignment with an axis that is normal to the center of the striking face.
