  • Patent number: 6138985
Abstract: A valve assembly having a body assembly mounted to a vessel opening. The body assembly includes a valve seat and a valve throughbore. A valve disk co-acts with the valve seat for opening and closing the valve throughbore. A receiver member having a receiver portion extends from the valve disk. A lock member is mounted in the body assembly and is capable of being received in the receiver portion to lock the valve disk in a locked position restricting movement of the valve disk relative to the valve seat. A valve operator assembly is in cooperative relationship with the valve disk and is capable of forcing the valve disk away from the valve seat to open the valve throughbore when the lock member is in an unlocked position. An interlock lug is attached to the valve operator assembly and prevents movement of the valve operator assembly when the lock member is in the locked position.

  • Patent number: 5931444
Abstract: A valve assembly for a tank having an opening. The valve assembly includes a body assembly mounted to the tank opening. The body assembly has a valve seat and a valve throughbore. A valve disk coacts with the valve seat for opening and closing the valve throughbore. A locking lug is attached to the valve disk. The locking lug has a locking portion for receiving a safety lock pin mounted in the body assembly. The safety lock pin has a locked position and an unlocked position. The safety lock pin is received in the locking portion of the locking lug to lock the valve disk in the locked position, and the safety lock pin is withdrawn from the locking portion in the unlocked position. A valve operator is in releasable contact with the valve disk. The valve operator forces the valve disk away from the valve seat to open the valve throughbore. The body assembly includes a first member and a second member and the lock pin is mounted in the first member.

  • Patent number: 5209456
Abstract: A valve insertable in a threaded opening in a tank for loading, unloading, or sealing the tank. The valve includes a threaded blocking plug threadable into the opening, and a threaded pipe connected to the top of the plug for threading into the opening. The pipe includes a port adjacent its lower end whereby the tank may be emptied or filled when the port is positioned in the tank and the tank is sealed when the plug is positioned in the opening.

  • Patent number: 5193573
Abstract: A housing having an inlet and outlet and seal ring sealably positioned in each of the inlet and outlet and movable longitudinally. A ball valve element positioned in the housing between the seal rings and having a tubular member rotatable on trunnions. A movable seat ring is connected to opposite sides of the tubular member by fastening means inside of the seat ring and the ring is removable through an openable closure flange.

  • Patent number: 5170819
Abstract: A protective valve system including a pipe extending into the tank through a wall with a seat positioned in the pipe inside of the tank and a safety plug movable for releasable and sealingly seating on the seat. A first valve is positioned outside the tank and connected to the pipe and a second valve is positioned in the pipe inside of the tank. A valve operator positioned inside of the tank is connected to the second valve but is exposed to the exterior of the tank for actuation.

  • Patent number: 5170988
Abstract: An internal tank valve for a mobile tank car. The valve is a cam actuated, quick action cam and self-locking valve. A drive shaft actuates a cam roller which in turn controls the movement of a slide which moves a valve element transversely to a valve seat. The valve is controlled by a valve operator positioned inside of the tank and releasably connected to the valve.

  • Patent number: 5145151
Abstract: An internal valve for a mobile tank car having an opening with a valve seat positioned in the opening. A sealing valve element is positioned in the tank for coacting with the valve seat for opening and closing the valve. A disc valve is releasably connected about the passageway below the valve element. A stem sealingly extends through the cap and is engagable with the valve element when the valve element is in the closed position. An actuator is connected to the stem outside of the cap for actuating the stem and locking the valve element in the closed position. A secondary seal may be actuated by the stem.

  • Patent number: 5042776
Abstract: An internal tank valve for a tank having an opening of a valve seat supported from the tank, a valve element support connected to the valve seat and extending into the interior of the tank, and a sealing valve element inside of said tank rotatably supported from the valve support for coacting with the valve seat for opening and closing the valve. A valve operator is supported from the tank and extends to and is connected to the seating element and extends to the outside of the tank and includes means for rotating the sealing valve element. The internal valve and operator may be repaired and replaced from outside of the tank.

  • Patent number: 4512360
Abstract: A fabricated ball valve is positioned between the inlet and the outlet of a valve housing and includes a first tubular member having sealing faces on each end for seating on valve seats and providing flow therethrough when the first tubular member is aligned between the inlet and the outlet. Second and third tubular axially aligned members have one end connected to the outside of the first member and have sealing faces on their other ends for seating on the valve seats. The second and third members block flow through the valve when the second and third members are aligned between the inlet and outlet. Sealing means may be on either the valve seats or on the movable seat ring connected to each of the other ends of the second and third tubular members.

  • Patent number: 4145026
Abstract: A valve having a body with a valve seat and valve element and actuating means for moving the valve element toward and away from the valve seat with stop means in the body for stopping the movement of the valve element when the element is positioned against the valve seat. Fluid-actuated seal means are provided for sealing between the valve seat and the valve element and fluid-actuation means including a piston and cylinder which are in fluid communication with the seal means for actuation of the seal means. The fluid-actuation means are connected to the valve-actuating means whereby the seal means are pressurized and relieved by movement of the valve-actuating means.
