Abstract: A handlebar grip is described for the drop portion of a racing bicycle handlebar. The grip includes a flexible elongated body for fitting over the handlebar. An enlarged palm and thumb cheek support member formed integrally with the elongated body having a wall that extends upward and outward over the elongated body. A vibration absorbing means is provided intermediate the wall and the elongated body for minimizing the transmission of vibration from the handlebar to the palm of the hand.

Abstract: A bicycle handlebar grip is disclosed that is adapted to fit over the "cross-over" and "turn-of-bar" segments of a racing bicycle handlebar. The grip is shaped to allow a comfortable hand grip in any of several positions. The grip also includes provisions for reducing transmission of vibration from the handlebar to the rider's hand, thus avoiding physical ailments such as "biker's nerve palsy".

Abstract: A motorcycle boot includes a lower vamp shell having a front tongue and rear tapering flaps which extend into an upper shell assembly formed by a hinged front door and a rear cuff. The door, of impact resistant plastic to protect the wearer's shin, interleaves with the cuff and is closed by overlying flexible straps. A closure system includes wire bales, longitudinally adjustable within holes spaced along the straps, and received with toothed latched receivers. The side legs of each wire bale snap-fits under locking flanges when the bale is closed over center. A connector hinge assembly includes a slotted plate, attached to the vamp shell, through which extends a freely movable pivot pin journalled in the upper shell to allow forward and rearward motion, rockable sideways motion, and lateral twisting of the shells. A replaceable sole insert, formed by a resilient pad molded to a carrier plate, is mechanically locked within a base recess on the bottom of the shell.

Abstract: A face guard accessory adapted to be attached to a motorcycler's helmet for protecting and shielding the nose, mouth and lower portions of the face from rocks, dirt and other flying debris encountered in riding. The face guard includes a shield portion removably attached to the helmet by a pair of side members slidably inserted in respective anchor clamps which are rigidly fastened to the exterior of the helmet. The anchor clamps are provided with respective threaded fasteners which engage the slidable side members and enable the user readily to attach and remove the shield portion and adjust its degree of forward extension as desired. Vent openings are provided in the shield portion of small enough dimension to prevent the entry of gravel, rocks and similar gross flying particles while permitting the passage of air.
