Abstract: The present invention provides a hinge apparatus for attaching a hinged device, such as a lid or door, to a structure to which the hinged device is to be attached. The hinge apparatus operates using hinge pins operable to selectively engage or disengage between the hinged device and the structure. In a closed position all pins can be engaged between the hinged device and the structure to hold the hinged device in the closed position. When desired to move the device to an open position, the hinge apparatus is operated so the pins on the desired hinge side are engaged between the hinged device and the structure while the pins on the opposite side of the hinged device are disengaged between the hinged device and the structure. This allows the hinged device to be rotated about the selected engaged pins, the engaged pins forming the hinge axis.
