  • Patent number: 11132036
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for implementing enhanced component reliability for leading edge components in a server computer system based upon system humidity conditions. A humidity value is identified and compared with a threshold value at an air flow input in contact with the leading edge components. One or more air flow control elements are used to direct air flow based upon the compared humidity values of the server system.

Date of Patent: September 28, 2021
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation
Inventors: Eric J. Campbell, Cody J. Erie, Tyler Jandt, Brandon R. Christenson
  • Patent number: 10528093
Abstract: A method and associated expansion card and computing device are disclosed. The method comprises inserting an expansion card into a connector of a printed circuit board (PCB) of the computing device. The expansion card comprises a handle that is adjustable between at least a retracted position and an extended position. The method further comprises installing a cover of the computing device. The handle is dimensioned such that when the handle is in the extended position, the handle is configured to limit motion of the expansion card toward the cover.

  • Patent number: 10334749
Abstract: A mobility apparatus. The mobility apparatus may include a continuous fixed-length rail attached horizontally to a bottom structural member of the front or the rear of a server rack. The continuous fixed-length rail exceeds a width of the server rack by an equal amount on either side of the server rack. The mobility apparatus also includes a lower rail portion attached to a lower edge of the continuous fixed-length rail; a raised rail portion attached to an extended length of each portion of the continuous fixed-length rail; and at least one wheel attached to an underside of each end of the extended length of the continuous fixed-length rail.
