  • Publication number: 20190142712
Abstract: A dentifrice is provided for promoting proper tooth brushing and rinsing techniques. The dentifrice includes a carrier material, such as a toothpaste or gel, having persistent particles mixed therein. The persistent particles are resilient to friction during tooth brushing such that the particles are visually distinguishable from the carrier material when one expels the dentifrice from their mouth. The particles act as an indication to continue brushing and signal when rinsing is complete. The persistent particles may further resemble the shape of bacteria to act as a teaching tool to educate parents and children about the caries process, tooth decay, and cavity formation.
