Abstract: This disclosure relates to surgical fixation systems and methods. The surgical fixation systems can include a fixation device and an adjustable loop connected to the fixation device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 13, 2018
Date of Patent: August 15, 2023
    Assignee: ARTHREX, INC.
    Inventors: Samuel Bachmaier, Coen Wijdicks
  • Publication number: 20220361869
Abstract: A surgical fixation system can include a fixation device, a loop connected to the fixation device, a graft carried by the loop, and a reinforcement material. Surgical fixation systems can be used in various tissue reconstruction procedures, including but not limited to, ACL and PCL reconstructions. The graft and the reinforcement material may be tensioned independently of one another to avoid stress shielding the graft.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 1, 2022
    Publication date: November 17, 2022
Inventors: Samuel BACHMAIER, Coen WIJDICKS, Stefan KRUPP, Adrian WILSON, Patrick SMITH, Jacob JOLLY

  • Publication number: 20220175469
Abstract: A system for interactively visualizing different options for tendon repair for a surgeon and for informing the surgeon in a descriptive way of the different options is disclosed. The system may be configured to determine the size of a damaged tendon and propose solutions consisting of the anchor types, number of anchors and a free tendon-to-bone healing area associated with each proposed solution. As such, the system may make a surgeon aware of solutions for which the surgeon was otherwise unaware that are superior in free tendon-to-bone healing area or number of anchors, or both. The system increases the likelihood that a patient will receive the optimum number of anchors and free tendon-to-bone healing area in a tendon repair.

  • Publication number: 20220104836
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include implants, instruments, and methods for attaching or reattaching soft tissue (200, 2200) to a bone (100), that enable independent tensioning of multiple connectors such as sutures (60, 160, 2060, 2160) and enable redundant fixation between bone (100) and soft tissue (200, 2200). Some embodiments provide for improved accuracy of the placement of substantially parallel tunnels through which soft tissue (200, 2200) to bone (100) connectors such as sutures (60, 160, 2060, 2160) are passed.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 16, 2021
    Publication date: April 7, 2022
