  • Patent number: 7795634
Abstract: A modular semiconductor light source assembly includes a semiconductor light source, such as a light emitting diode, which is mounted on a substrate which supplies electricity to the light source and which assists in removing waste heat therefrom. Substantially all of the light emitted by the LED is transferred to a lens by a light pipe, the cross section of the light pipe increasing from the light source to the lens and the lens having a general D-shape such that the light pattern formed by the lens is constrained in a first direction orthogonal to a second direction. The assembly can be combined with other similar assemblies or other light sources in a light fixture to produce a desired overall beam pattern such as a automobile headlamp low beam or high beam pattern.

  • Publication number: 20080278961
Abstract: A lighting assembly is adapted to be fixedly secured to a motor vehicle for emitting light out therefrom. The lighting assembly includes a frame for supporting and mounting the lighting assembly to the motor vehicle and a lens fixedly secured to the frame. The lighting assembly also includes a light emitting diode spaced from the lens for emitting light out through the lens. The lighting assembly further includes a reflector extending between the lens and the light emitting diode. The reflector includes a parabolic reflective surface, and a hyperbolic component for directing light emitted from the light emitting diode out toward the parabolic reflective surface at an angle such that the light passes through the lens as collimated light.

  • Patent number: 7425081
Abstract: A lamp assembly including at least two light emitting diodes (LEDs) attached to an electrically non-conductive housing by at least two beads of electrically conductive epoxy. The electrically conductive epoxy beads are disposed in at least two grooves formed in the housing, for providing at least two voltage rails for connecting the LEDs to a driving circuitry.

  • Publication number: 20080037266
Abstract: A running board assembly includes a frame having an interior and a top surface. The top surface of the frame includes at least one slot extending therethrough. A lightpipe step-strip includes a first portion disposed within the interior of the frame and a second portion mounted along the top surface of the frame. A lamp assembly is fixedly secured to the frame for transmitting light towards the lightpipe step-strip. The first portion of the lightpipe step-strip redirects light through the at least one slot in the frame to light the second portion of the lightpipe step-strip and provide nighttime visibility of the running board assembly.

  • Patent number: 6062709
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lamp assembly comprising a housing member having an outer opening therein, wherein a reflector member is positioned substantially within said housing member, wherein the reflector member is adjustable and adapted with an inner opening into which a bulb member can be inserted. A protective member is provided which provides a substantial seal between the housing member and reflector member, wherein a retaining member for mounting the protective member to the reflector member is provided. The retaining member is adapted with portions to connect the protective member to the reflector and with portions to interlock corresponding members of the bulb member to the reflector member with relative ease.
